Request for Forum Moderators

3296 Views 30 Replies 15 Participants Last post by  jacorob
I requested it before as well. Please see the picture below from the TL forum.
Can you please make sub forums. Then it will be easy to navigate and locate threads. Members will be able to help out others much quicker as now a new thread get quickly buried down and forgotten.

This is a must. I don't understand why it wasn't done already. Posts with actual information get buried without subforums

Please visit the TL forum for more details. They had stickys in the subforums for the most obvious question and performance upgades even stuff like 8000 page maintenance manual. I had a TL before RL and it was much easier for me when I had an issue or any upgade I want to make with step by step proven stickies on subforums and moderator will add new proven products to those stickies with better price and installation instructions. Much much easier in every aspect. Please Moderators check yourself and make this forum better.
Well the Moderators couldn't do what you requested. I agree that there needs to be more organization now that we have two generations of the Ridgeline.

I've added the forums the way I think you've requested. The Moderators can move threads into those sub-forums as they see fit.

I'm not sure how this will go over with the owners since sponsorship is involved. I'm an Admin but I really don't have anyone to contact regarding this issue.

So I just added them and hope for the best and assure any sponsors there is no intention on my part to cause any problems. I'm not involved or have any access to the sponsorship and those involved are free to make any changes as needed.

There are a lot of other structure changes that should be made, but I'm walking on thin ice already.

Let me know if this is what you wanted.

Thanks,
-Joe

Well since there's been ZERO response it must not have been important after all. Just wasted my time once again.

My mistake. I guess that's not what you or others wanted.

I'll just let it go stagnant and be done with it. I have no idea why I keep getting sucked into caring about ROC. Nobody really cares. Certainly not the owners or Honda.

Just wasting my time.

It's a great idea and it's day 1 of you making this less than 2 hours ago. You shouldn't be so quick to denounce it or your work on it.

I would also add when I logged in tonight I was caught by surprise by it and didn't understand it until I found this thread.

Just spent the last 10 minutes trying to find the sub forums in Tapatalk. Suddenly they just appeared. This is a much needed addition in my opinion

Well there were strong words said and messages sent to me. I personally replied to those that had strong opinions, but not a single reply.

I can just as easily undo it. It took hours of work and not a single response, thank you, screw you or anything else.

Tell me how you would feel? You can't because you don't know of all the messages requesting and DEMANDING that this was needed to happen. I granted those wishes and quite frankly none bothered to even respond.

I'm very tempted to remove them. I put MY neck on the line for it. If nobody appreciates it I simply wasted my time (I get nothing from this forum in the way of compensation).

It's a no win situation that I won't bother with again. The format is so screwed up that it would take me many more hours, but there have been over 1000 hits since the changes and NOT ONE single response on the subject other than your negative remark.

There's nobody else that gives a damn about ROC. Only me and I did a lot to try and better this community. No wonder Tom left. The soft spot in my heart is hardening fast.

Why bother? All I get are negative responses. I don't have to do a damned thing. Is it too much for any of you to say good things instead of bombarding me with complaints? If so I'll just turn off my PM and email and forget ROC.

Yes, I worked on that for hours. And quite frankly I know exactly how many members have logged on since the changes and yours is the ONLY response.

There are 232 viewing the G2 parent forum RIGHT NOW. Zero response other than I should have waited longer. No thanks. Not worth my time.

Joe I think the big thing is the hard work of moving existing threads to the new sub-forums. New threads will start but until the old ones are sifted thru and moved they will continue as is.

Well Joe you did an excellent Job today. Members will thank you for this sub classifications.
Now its moderators Job to move some important stuff to the classifications they belong to. Then everything will go smoothly. Members can post general stuff on the main page and other as per classification.
Moderators can slap there hand few times if they don't follow and lock there thread then members will follow.
I think this G2 RL forum is going to explode as G2 sales start going up. I don't see a match for G2 in the market any time soon.

And i'm not going to be the one to sift thru things, try and figure out what the OP meant and move threads. No thank you.

I put my neck on the chopping block to help all of you and quite frankly I shouldn't have.

Thanks for creating the sub-forums. The single G2 forum was getting out of hand, difficult to find things. Thanks!
Joe,

I was busy at a Doctor's office, Medical Tests and then Dinner and return to pickup prescriptions. And although I didn't message you directly, I did forward this thread to another Moderator. I will start moving threads and IMHO, VeritcalScope has basically abandoned this forum to run on it's own, and collect the paycheck, what ever that may be. If they don't like it then they can start organizing it and get in here and run this forum.

I will respond to every thread you opened, but it may take me the better part of this weekend to move things around. Sorry but I work a full time job, with overtime and oncall and this is a "for fun thing"

Hope you all have a good evening and good night

I will say start with moving the most Active threads and leave the dead ones there
I appreciate your work Joe. Took me a bit to figure out what was going on, but I think this is a badly-needed structure to move forward in an organized manner.

If ROC continues to grow, it will need this better structure and organization, or it will collapse on itself under a mountain of unrelated disorganized posts. Organization stimulates participation, which is the lifeblood of forums. If those in charge of the site can't see that, then they will be doomed in the long run.
I appreciate the work very much. I've run a forum or 2 myself before and making changes can be a tedious task at best.
Good Job!

This venue has been sizziling since I joined.
ROC Forum is by far THE most active venue for these Honda trucks, and the “Second Gen 2017+ Ridgeline” area is extremely popular with readership averaging over 200 at peak times. I saw 250 online recently.
Compare that to the popular Mazda CX 5 forum where I posted about my CX which usually has 100+.
The CX has a younger demographic group so doubling its readership is noteworthy.
So this place is a serious resource for folks looking at the new RLs and there are a lot looking.

Joe, fantastic job running the show here!
Joe...I sent you a PM and said thank you so much for your past, current, and hopefully future information and guidance. Dont know what happened behind the scenes, but I am happy as hell that you seemed to have "come back home" to these forums. I can say that the vast majority appreciate you and all you do.

However, I find it insulting when you said that you put your neck on the chopping block for us and "quite frankly shouldnt have". No offense, but that is a crappy thing to say. I have said numerous times thank you. Dont really know what else to do.

Thanks Joe. I'd be happy to sift through all the threads and start moving them but I don't have those privileges.

Same here. Bet a couple of us could get this all cleaned up in a day or 2.

This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
