Ridge.......I mean 05 Toyota Taco wind noise

I thought some might find this interesting. Here's an unhappy Taco owner Sound familiar, and Toyota is hanging him out to dry.

Sorry to tell you this, but you are far from alone. I have precisely the same wind noise and the service department at my dealer insists the noise is normal and is coming from wind movement around the side mirror. They have test driven it twice. Many others on this forum and the TundraSolutions forum have noted the loud wind noise from the driver's side window. A recent review of the Tacoma and Frontier in the New York Times also noted this annoying, loud and constant noise. My solution has been to elevate the radio volume. Of course, when I have a passenger who wants to talk, I have problem. The other day I turned down the radio for my wife and then she says "What's that loud wind noise? Is'nt your window closed?"

If anybody has any good news on dealing with this problem (other than the radio volume solution) I'd sure be happy to hear about it!

I haven't heard this complaint about the Ridgeline in awhile. Has everyone got theirs fixed?

I just got mine back yesterday...still evaluating because I couldn't hear mine every day. That and the tape they left on the windshield is making a lot of noise.
Hey Swampler, What Did The Service Dept Do To Address The Windnoise?

They replaced the windshield. Seems to have worked. Haven't heard any whistling yet and it seems very quiet inside.
My Taco had the same problem. Just a noisy truck, not much they can do. Must be the body design or something that causes that drivers side noise. It helps if you open the sliding rear window about 1/4 inch. I finally fixed it, traded it in on a Ridge!:D
I think this just won the "longest dormant thread brought back to life" award.:D
