From the height of the lamps from the bar and how far the lamps are set back from the windshield, makes me wonder if you cast more shadow than useful light on the ground. Unless they are some serious pencil beams that shoot narrow and far.

I just aim the lights into my rear view mirror


So far they light up everything. I got them high enough over the roof slope. So no issues there at all. They are designed to light up stuff at a distance. Will let you know once I go out into the wild and test them.

You don't have to do it the same way, try higher still if you have same bar.

That's the trick with Canadian Ridgeline's, you can only identify them by their outline in the snow.. haha

Hauled some stuff to the local waste disposal day. Noticed that of the 5 trucks in the 10-15 vehicles in my lane, 3 of them were RL's. Gen1 in front of me, another Gen2 farther up in the line. Other two were a Frontier and Chevy. Thought it was pretty cool.
