Hi,

I'm looking at buying a 2007 RL. Everything seems like it's in fine shape except for one thing: inside the gas door there is a slight "bubble" in the paint where it looks like rust is starting to come through. I've done some reading and noticed that it's not uncommon.

What I really want to know is how serious of an issue is it? Does this spell trouble in the near future? Is there a fix? Is it costly?

The RL has about 100k miles and is selling for about $9,500.

if your concerned about rust on an 07 look inside all the doors, underweatherstrip and under front edge of the hood.Not sure where you live but you have to figure the truck is 10 years old.

Mine is like new still.
Just yesterday I cleaned that compartment and waxed it, only took about 10min.
I noticed the grease on the hinge is getting a little thick so I will probably clean/re-grease that this summer.

I checked under the weatherstrips in Dec. when I was applying Shin-Etsu grease.
I only found 2 tiny spots and will revisit them this summer also.
