You're right, they do seam to dry rot fairly quickly. Mine are pretty cracked as well, so I'm looking for new tires. For the type of driving and towing I do, I can't find a better tire then the LTX M/S. It's too bad they don't make them anymore. I hope Michelin's replacement tire, the Defender LTX M/S, is just as good but dry rots less.
Just put Defender LTX M/S on my 2011 RTS. Very quiet ride, great performance in the rain. Went through TS Hermine with no hydroplaning or jerking of the wheel when hitting pooled water.
