I bought one from that same store for my 2018 (without the knob). It has been installed for 2.5 years with no issues.

What would you need it for, though? Hard to scratch and pretty impossible to drop the infotainment system.

I bought one on Amazon — that was specific for my 2021 RTL-E (or so it said) — it did not fit.

If anyone finds one that does fit, I’d appreciate a link to the site where you found it so I can purchase one too. Thanks…!

What do you think is the purpose? Do you think it’s completely necessary? Does it improve anything or just act as a protective barrier?

This one from RUYA fit. It's okay in terms of quality- reminds me of old school phone screen protectors. I haven't found anything better. I wasn't able to get a perfect install- there are some spots that are air-bubble-ish.

This one did NOT fit. The packaging was similar and from the same brand. But didn't have the hole for the volume knob. Probably they sent the wrong item / for a different car.

If you don’t want one — don’t buy one.

Settle down man. I was asking a sincere question. No need to get upset.

I am waiting for Nushield to make one for the infotainment unit with the knob.

This seems to be a constant debate. There are benefits to installing a screen protector. The screen can get fine scratches from fingernails, towels, paper towels, dirt on hands, etc. They are very fine and most of the time you won't notice them, but they will exist.

One person dropped their keys and they slid down the screen and caused a major scratch. The material used for the screen is not as tough as the gorilla glass or other material used on cellphones.

I always purchase a screen protector.

Thanks man! I appreciate the info. I think I’m leaning towards one.

I have one installed on my 2020. A few air pockets on the corners but it works well. I could probably work them out with a heat gun buts I really dont notice them unless the sun is directly on the radio.

Well, when you're out drinking with your mates and you accidentally slam a beer bottle down on it... If you drop it and it hits a rock...

I put a screen protector on my '17 and then my wife scratched the screen protector with her ring. o_O

lol - then spend away!
I got this one for my '17 RTL-E and it lasted for 5 years with no problem. (Note: No volume knob screen). I liked it to reduce glare through the sunroof. I've not put one on my '21

I received this screen protector and it fits perfect!

Here’s a picture of it before I installed it (no point of posting a picture of it installed — because it’s CLEAR). It looks frosted here from the screen protector protectors (both sides) that haven’t been peeled-off yet.
