Smashed RL

Very sad. Took my RL to the dealer for some work and there was a poor little RL in there with the front smashed and the windshield all cracked. I thought I heard my RL wimper....

Someone on a test drive at our dealership wrecked a red one today. The whole driver's side was wiped out. I think it was the other driver's fault, but a sad thing to happen to a new truck (no one was hurt, as far as I know).

They have the wrecked RL parked in their wreck lot. This is a very sad sight. Everyone, DRIVE SAFELY!

They're going to repair it, but I'm sure they will have to disclose the repairs. Dealers wouldn't do anything as underhanded as selling that as new, would they??

We were told some ridiculously low offers had been made on it. We also learned that the driver's insurance is responsible. Bummer. Wreck a vehicle on a test drive and have high insurance rates haunt you for years as a result, on something you didn't even own. . .

Interesting. In my state, we insure the vehicle, not the driver. When my Ridgeline was rear-ended, the driver wasn't even driving his own vehicle. My claim is against the owner's insurance. I'm sure that this dealership has insurance to back up his dealer plates. This sounds like a P'd off Honda dealer who is going to fight to have someone else pay. I'd bet this one takes a while. Will that pretty red Ridgeline sit there rusting?

Side swipe damage is ugly, but superficial. I doubt there is any structural damage. I'll buy the truck for $10,000 as is.

So I guess the real question is... did it help the wind noise or make it worse?

It's nothing major. The bumper cover is dented and gouged. I could drive it as-is but I'm going to get it fixed. His dime as he rear-ended me.

Another smashed red Ridgeline. This one now has a very short wheelbase.

5 people die and you're joking about the vehicle condition...
And it was the RL drivers fault no less.

Oh, it's terrible. I wasn't joking - I was making an observation. But, you do have to admit it looks a bit cartoon-ish with those proportions. I amazed at how the middle just folded up. It's almost unbelievable that colliding with a subcompact car resulted in that kind of damage.

Wow. A wrong way on I85 collision. Probably 140 mph combined impact. No wonder the RL is bent like that. Ouch.
