Splicing a USB cable?

752 Views 2 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  Zman51
I installed an aftermarket radio in my 17 RL. I would like to keep the USB port where it is located in center bin. The end that plugs in the honda stereo is some sort of honda plug and not your typical usb. Anyone know if there is much to splicing a USB cable? I am pretty good at soldering. I assume there is a shield?

Thx

Here is the pin out info for a USB. You just need the data for the Honda cord.
