So unfortunately my '06 Ridgeline does not have a telescopic steering wheel and in order to comfortably grip the steering wheel, I have to scoot my seat waaaay forward, till my knees are almost touching the dash. I would like to know if there is a kit that can be installed that will extend the length of the steering column without having to get an entire new steering wheel. I like my volume and cruise controls on the steering wheel and not wanting to buy a new one for that reason and cost as well.

Anyone heard of such a thing?

Thanks!

That was the one thing that I had hard time adapting to when I got my Ridgeline. I doubt that there is an adaptor.

My understanding is that this extra distance is for proper air bag deployment...which doesn't make sense since the seat can be moved.

As with all things. Anything is possible with money. A custom car builder could swap another (the pilot maybe) column in. But since the column design is a part of the safety systems. Most likely nobody will want to take that risk.
