i just installed the metal rear cable replacement guides and with the help of this forum and a youtube video, i saved $375. that is what my honda dealer wanted to fix the issue. it took me about 1 and half hours and i am a perfectionist. i didn't have any real issues and didn't break any plastic, so i was pretty proud of my self. i did ask my son to help lift the rear seat out and put it back in, but the rest i did alone. not a difficult task and the disks were about $15-$20, i bought them months ago.

thanks again for all the help hints and pics!

I put my new pulleys in today. It wasn't to bad of a job. But as the OP said those plastic pieces aren't made to take apart. The seat back got on the front seat back and pulled it off! Those little clips are total junk and I need to get new ones to put the seat back back on. UGH! Thanks OP for the great write up.
