Thanks for the video!... I was annoyed with this feature of not being able to turn off the vehicle and keep the radio on. Problem solved!

.
I tried it and it works, but it doesn't put the truck in the "Accessory" mode, it puts the truck in "On" mode, which has everything powered (meaning more battery drain) instead of just the display screen/radio that the "Accessory" mode does.

Agreed it is not the best solution and should be an area scheduled for improvement.
I think the online owner's manual mentions there being an Accessory option on page 140. I can't really make complete sense of it though. The diagram is a little confusing.
The solution I use is to turn the truck off while it is still in gear. Then shift to park.

This is exactly what page 140 of the manual tells you to do to get from ON to ACC.

I did this and it shut off?
I did this and it shut off?
My YouTube video above showing it worked. :surprise:
I gotta try this when we go to the Outlaws in a few hours. Will report back.
Backed into the driveway put the parking brake on and put the transmission in park. Remembering oh crap I was gonna try this.

I put the transmission back in gear with foot on the brake and then hit the start stop button. The truck shut off and the display went black once I placed the shifter in park.

What am I doing wrong?

What's "KAHN!" In Canukian?
Just tried it...what I did was have the engine running, put it in Neutral and turned truck off. Music was still playing. If you put it in Park and let go of the shift button it cuts off. I suppose you can leave it on Neutral and put E-brake on and it would work.
I think the whole accessory mode thing is broken. It does not work. When I bring my RTL in for first oil change I am going to complain about it.

Yes, you can get the car into accessory mode following the directions on page 140 of the owner's manual, but as soon as you shift into park and let go of the "trigger" button on the shifter, everything powers off. Useless.

Accessory mode does not work. It is broken -- defective by design. How can you make a toggle button (on/off) have a third mode in a fashion that is user friendly? Maybe a "long press".

Anyway, it is one of the biggest "dis-satisfyers" on this vehicle. Everybody complains about it. Honda needs to fix it.
-come to stop, set e-brake, hit start/stop button. Leave in gear or N. Only way I can see to make it work.
My friend's Passat will keep the audio system playing when stopping the engine until the door opens.

That would be nice.

That is how most Fords are as well. Even all they back to about 14 years ago.
