Tonneau Cover Lock Scratches

Is anyone getting scratches on the tailgate from locking mechanism on the tonneau cover? I am wondering if mine is not adjusted right? Take a look at the pictures below.

I compared my assembly to your pics. I think those scratches may have been done during installation of the cover. From those pictures and looking at my cover, there is no physical evidence the scratches were made after installation.
