Standard corporate legal department speak for "screw you, we do not have to be responsible for what we say or do". This sort of thing is standard everywhere thanks to corporate legal but how the company actually handles these things separates the good companies from the bad:
Good Company: "We are really sorry for the mistake on our webpage, we will abide by what it said in your case but fix the error as soon as possible."
Bad Company: Read the disclaimer which was clearly posted "in the bottom of a locked filing cabinet stuck in a disused lavatory with a sign on the door saying ‘Beware of the Leopard'".
Que Lawyer Jokes: "How many lawyers does it take?....." "what do you call a lawyer?...."
FYI, my father was a lawyer back in more honest times....
