I got the same email, and it is very welcome. I'm hoping that Truxxx will put up a product page soon with details about this new G2 kit. I'm just one of those people who needs to read details, see photos etc. I've never installed a lift (or leveling) kit before, so I'd like to see instructions.

Truxxx makes this kit available less than 4 months after the G2 RL release -- that's fast! Assuming this kit adds 1.5 inches of ground clearance to the front of the truck, it will significantly improve the RL's capability to venture offroad. It will also be interesting to see if the front lift allows more choice in tire size. If the rub point is the wheel well, it might help, but if larger tires rub against the front struts, this won't solve the problem.

I too am curious to see pictures, descriptions, installation instructions and warranty language. Let the beta testing begin!
i must not have been on the list, even though i emailed like 4 times they didnt let me know by email today so thanks for posting this.
Robyn at Truxxx just sent me an email with information for us at ROC. There are two pictures below of a Ridgeline that has had the leveling kit installed on it. Robyn included this info in the email:

Darren is writing up the instructions, so I will get that info to you shortly. Of course we will not send pics of the spacers and hardware because we don't want any competitors stealing our product, as I am sure you understand. I do have a few pics of a Ridgeline it was installed on, and should be getting pics of another truck in the next few days.

I have attached those pics that you can use on the forum. Also see below, We have written up something for your guys for the forum:

1.5" fits simply and easily...more than 1.5" makes the axles to close to bottom of strut. With 1.5" axle's are about as close to the CV boot as I would like, any closer and they would be too close and on a rough road might tear a boot. Lots of clearance the way it sits, and that is a good thing.

2.0" or bigger kit - will be happening sometime in the future but it will be MORE EXPENSIVE than our 2005-2015 Ridgeline kit simply because it costs more to make...more parts to make and the lower strut mount is critical. Price will be in $500-600 retail price range...BUT...those who buy the 1.5" will be able to buy the parts to upgrade to the larger kit if/when we bring it out. It is a lower strut mount and rear lift with sway bar relocation brackets and sway bar links. Lots more parts than the 2005-2015 kit.

We test fit with 17" Ultra Wheels +35mm and 265/55R17 Toyo rubber ( just touches in rear) - bigger might be possible but not without cutting and HOPING there is enough clearance between top of strut and tire....I would use this tire if was at all uncomfortable without cutting and trimming. You may be able to fit a bigger tire, but I have no idea as we have not tried it...we don't have the option of cutting up a new Ridgeline.

Thanks for the updates, im getting the 1.5" immediately seeing as they claim it can be upgraded to the extra parts for the 2"+ kits in the future.

Can't wait to try some new tires, maybe 255/65
Has anyone ever installed one of these kits before? Is it something anyone can do or is it best to go to a shop that can install it for you?

The actual install of the spacers is not too difficult. Have you replaced shocks before? If so, this is very simple. While the instructions are not yet available, I bet they recommend an alignment after the install. And many of us here don't have that capability at home.

I've replaced calipers, rotors, gas pumps, alternators, belts and done quite a few upgrades like Air Intakes, spark plugs/wires, etc but wasn't sure if any special tools or major takedowns are required for a spacer lift.

If it needs a realignment regardless, i may call some shops and see if they will install it and align it all for me afterwards right away.

Thanks
Heres the install instructions from Gen 1 if that helps to get an idea :

As easy as it should be I'd do it myself. That way I'd 100% know that everything was torqued to spec and fit correctly as opposed to slapped together by a tech who may or may not care about the quality of his work.
I'm on the fence on getting one. The rake doesn't bother me but I would like a hair more height. I just don't want to lose any mpg even if it is minimal. I'll probably do it anyway.....

The lower end of the strut on the G2 is different from the Figure A picture, there is still a single bolt, but has a different way of attaching. I would think you would remove the lower bolt, detach the brake line from the strut (I think it is attached, if not, never mind), then remove the bottom of the strut by lowering the lower control until the strut comes out. Followed by removing the three nuts attaching the top. Add the spacer to the top of the strut and reverse the process, pretty simple, actually.

I talked to Robyn at Truxxx and told her I would really like to see an adjustable spring height strut replacement that would allow you to raise or lower the truck as desired. She said they would probably do that in the future and took my info to keep me informed.

I would think this new Truxxx option would pretty much kill that other product that requires you to also buy tires, wheels and graphics.

Ordered mine this morning, she told me they had about 200 orders already and they are making them as fast as they can to meet demand, so yea i guess you could say its killing that "other product" :)

Just want to note how quality of a product they make, all handmade here in the US and they got everything certified/approved with Honda and NADA also so there will be no warranty issues. Feels good knowing you're supporting someone directly who makes them by hand.

They are selling to us FIRST then they are opening sales to dealerships later from what i was told.

By the way the deal they are offering ROC members is insane.. props to Truxxx for that!
...they got everything certified/approved with Honda and NADA also so there will be no warranty issues...
So this is in writing somewhere? How does Truxxx actually get an automaker like Honda to promise there won't be any warranty issues with their product? It's hard to believe that Honda would do this without thoroughly testing to see how the modification might affect various driveline/suspension components and safety systems of the RL.

I'm not familiar with how this certification process works and would like to learn more about it. Does the NADA approval also mean that Honda dealers will be able to install the Truxxx kit and certify that it won't affect your truck's warranty? That would be a big deal for me -- peace of mind.

The Truxxx kit does sound like a great product, and it could cause Jsport to offer a leveling-kit-only option as well. I have the luxury of waiting to see how all this plays out over the next couple years before I make any decisions. I know I can count on ROCers to keep us posted on their experiences!

The lady on the phone told me they are the only aftermarket lift that does this approval stuff with Honda.. don't have anything in writing its all just talk at this point, but it sounds nice.
More from Truxxx on the new leveling kit:

Truxxx Ridgeline kits have been put on at dealerships since 2004. We don't get a certification from Honda. However we have been NADA approved from each individual Dealerships nationally. We have not sent out the notice to all the Honda dealerships because we literally just built it and wanted you guys on the forum to have the first option to buy the 1 1/2" lift. We have gotten orders from a few Honda Dealerships yesterday, But I wont be advertising to all of them until late November. If I had sent the notice out to every Honda dealership nationally, you would not be getting your kit until Feb at the earliest. Most Dealerships know our Brand name Truxxx, and if there is an issue with the Dealership installing it, please have them call me directly.

Just to add to DogOnBoard's post ... Robyn contacted me today and we talked on the phone. Her primary customers are auto dealerships. She looks at us as early adopters and ardent enthusiasts. ROC members have been big supporters of her G1 Ridgeline products. She's already got 32 orders. And perhaps best of all we essentially have first shot at this product at a very low price: something like 37% below retail. She mentioned that she would honor that price to ROC members into December on request. Her expectation, though, is that word-of-mouth will start and the dealerships will begin ordering in larger numbers and delivery times will slow down. While Robyn, of course, can't guarantee that every Honda dealership in North America will install her kits, a large number do and she doesn't expect that any of us will have any trouble finding dealerships to do this work, if that's how we want to get it installed.

She also mentioned that one ROC member was early to the party and has his G2 1.5" lift kit already. So hopefully, we can look forward to pictures in the near future. She's getting a lot of questions from members that she doesn't have answers to yet. For example, they haven't tested it extensively with lots of different wheels and tires. I think that something that we can probably accomplish faster than they can. Installation instructions are coming and will be released to us for posting on the forum probably in a week to 10 days.

What would be very interesting is a photo of the truck with the maximum allowable payload in the bed. Will the nose be pointing at the moon?
there's still a slight rake even with the 1.5" front lift, but with a full loaded bed it will probably be slightly nose up.. i doubt it would be that noticeable
