Has anyone had experience with this? I have seen mixed reports on other forums about the ability to lock out the surge brakes on the cargo trailer. My driveway has a decent incline to it and will need to back up the trailer (empty) into the garage. I am nervous the brakes are going to engage...thoughts?

U- haul customer support was also useless when I called and asked.

I love those UHaul tandam 6X12s! They follow you like you owe them money!

They backup well too. Never backed up a hill though. Like said before look for a slot for a pin or just stuff a screwdriver behind the pivot point to keep it from activating the hydraulics.

I'd try it without doing anything special first. I don't ever remember feeling the brakes activating no matter what was happening. Sometimes coming down some hills in Vermont I was wondering...

Make sure the tongue does not bottom out as the trailer takes the incline backwards.
