Ultimate tire fitment chart

Here is a chart I put together using user data here on the forums to show available tire sizes for the Ridge, how they fit, how far off they throw your speedometer, and what modifications you might need to squeeze them in. Please check my results and let me know about any additions/corrections. The chart is also available in PDF and XLS (Excel) versions below.

For reference, I used the tire calculator at http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
In addition, Speedlever found another great tire/gear calculator here:
http://www.wallaceracing.com/gearcalc1.php

Please note that tire manufacturers often vary in exact sizes, so check questionable fitments against the actual product specs. The downloadable files have hyperlinks to reference pages for examples and instructions.

*Trunk is approximately 275mm tall w/o the tire tray, and 30.5 inches wide between the trunk hinges

**Grind welds: Requires removing the mudflaps and grinding down the vertical pinch-welds on the rear side of the front wheel wells.

*** Fender Cutting: Not for the faint of heart. It has been proven to fit, but you will have to modify the sheet metal.

note You may notice that for most applications, a lift is actually not required. Due to the shape of the front wheel wells, the available 2" suspension lift does little to add usable clearance. The tires are more limited by the width of the wheel wells from the front bumper to the mud flap.

#Warning# To date, only Honda technicians can correct your speedometer/odometer, and most are unwilling to do so. Changing tire sizes can alter your speed and mileage readings, as well as confusing the computer inputs required for speed calculations used by the VSA, VTM-4, and transmission shift points.

Re: Ultimate tire fitmant chart

Mine were the mud terrains which are .2" larger overall diameter. Click on the link to pics of my truck in my signature and the first page shows the truck sitting stock on the mud terrains before the lift. Never rubbed once till I put aftermarket wheels on.

07 RTX - how was the road noise and the gas mileage with the KM2 mud terrains. im considering these and i know it's going to be louder and get less mpg, but it is very significant?

They did make a bit of road noise up to 35 mph then quieted down. Doing 70+ on the interstate you couldn't even hear them. Highway mileage was steady where city mpg went down quite a bit I would say 4-5 mpg drop around town. Overall they rode great and wore really good so I didn't have any real complaints.

+1 for sticky....thx for putting all the data together saved me a TON of time!
Any thoughts on 245/75/17?
I thought I saw 255-70-17 somewhere. Any chance of this fitting without the lift?
I just put on BFG all terrain ko on my truck and they just fit without having to mod anything and I kept my mud flaps on. they ride so much better than stock the size I put on is 245/70 r17
I've read that when it comes to tires fitting into the wheel wells, it's a matter of width that becomes a problem more than it is overall diameter. If that true, does anyone know if 275/65R18 tires would fit the RL? I know 275/60-18 need the welds to ground down, is that all the 275/65R18's would need?
I'm getting tires in the next week or so. I'm sold on the BFG All Terrains but not sure on size. I have the truxx lift installed, but dont really want to do any cutting/grinding. \

Any thoughts on running bf goodrich a/t 265/65 17? - I'm thinking that with the lift I should be good, but was wondering if anyone was running that size now with lift and what was involved. Thanks!!

Anyone have problems with lights being on (abs) or traction control/transmisson issues from going to a bigger tire? Guy installing them right now was worried but I'm having them go for it anyway. Figured with all these people running bigger tires, someone would have mentioned it.
Offset Wheels

Would be great if everyone post pictures and experiences with offset wheels that go out a bit larger than the truck.

Thanks

The only time it should affect your ABS lights, is if you have a mixmatch of tire sizes, other than that, it shouldn't be a problem.

With my 2000 CRV, I went taller, from a 205/70 15 to a 215/75 15 and didn't notice much of a difference, and I never saw my ABS being affected. I still have the CRV, so it's been about 7 years of driving with this size, (2 sets of tires), after I replaced the original set when they wore out after 3 years.
Thank you for creating this chart, I reference it all the time and it really helped me decide on what to go with on my truck!
Thanks for the great feedback guys. I updated the original chart. I'll have to fix the downloadable files after I get home from vacation. I'm glad this has been a help.
All tables updated, including downloadables!
thanks to this chart i now will be sellin my 22's and gettin 24's for the spring time.. good chart. thanks alot
