USB audio input for a 12-14 Ridgeline RTL with Nav

I have an iphone 6, and I am looking for a way to play my music from it by wire while also charging it, being able to control it from the steering wheel, and show track information. I know iSimple makes some connectors, but does it show track info/steering whee controls? I've also heard its not compatible with the 2012-2014 Nav models. I'd prefer putting in a USB port instead of running a lightning cable directly to the system (it wouldn't be a PITA if the cable broke over time)

Any ideas?

Not a full solution, but if you do run a cable, I'd run a long USB extension cable from the back of the stereo and leave the open end wherever you choose to plug your phone in. That way you can plug a Lightning cable, or Micro USB or anything else in there, if you ever need to swap it out, or if the tip of your Lightning cable were to break, or the coating start to fall apart. Check out the braided nylon ones.
Hello!
Would Bluetooth audio connectivity be an option for you? It would work fine with your iPhone 6 and be wireless.
I used one of the USA Spec BT45-HON3 adaptors in my '14 Ridgeline RTL-Nav and it worked great. I ended up replacing the head unit...come to think of it, I still have the bt45 and if you are interested we could probably work out a deal.

I may have another option for you, but I'll need to do a little testing and report back.

I have a 2012 RTL W/Navi and I've been using an iPod Classic (160GB) connected to a USA SPEC PA15-Hon2 iPod Adapter since the truck was new. Everything works fine with track display on the navi and the steering wheel controls work fine and it charges the iPod when the truck is running.

The catch is that the USA SPEC PA15-Hon2 iPod Adapter has a 30-pin Apple connection to the iPod, not the newer Apple lightning connection. But there is good news, I have successfully used an genuine Apple 30-pin to Lightning cable adapter (gotta use the real deal, knock off adapters won't work) to connect and charge the wife's iPod Touch (128GB).

I will have to test if the USA SPEC PA15-Hon2 iPod Adapter + Apple lightning adapter will work with my iPhone 7, I'm betting it will work just fine for playing music, controls and charging. Will bluetooth work at the same time? I don't know, I'll report back when I have a chance to test it.

Wow, I can't believe it works!

Plugged my iPhone 7 into the USA SPEC PA15-Hon2 iPod Adapter by using a Apple 30 pin to lightning adapter.

The phone charges wether the ignition is on or off.

Switching the ignition on made the phone resume playing the song I was last listening to through the stereo.

Switches on the steering wheel operate the music playback on the phone perfectly.

I expected all of the above, but I was surprised to discover the phone remains paired to the truck's bluetooth. Pressing the phone button on the steering wheel paused the music playback and I was able to place a phone call using the truck's bluetooth voice commands. The phone resumed playing back music as soon as the call was disconnected.

Cool, I assumed the phone would not do Bluetooth, charging and music playback all at the same time.

Just what i wanted to hear, thanks coolbob! although I think it charging while the keys are out is a bit weird.

Has it glitched out on you at any point? I read some stuff about the volume getting stuck on some iphones.
