People always have their reasons for trading. Maybe they bit off more than they could chew with payments, maybe the novelty of having a truck wore off quicker than they expected. Dealers will always try to make trading your car in sound appealing, especially if they want your high demand vehicle. My dad tells me that his local toyota dealership will try and buy his FJ Cruiser from him EVERY TIME he takes it in to get serviced. He loves it and and has no desire to sell it, but that doesn't stop them from making enticing offers each time they see him. The first offer they made was $3k more than what he purchased it for.
