A few weeks ago, I set up a saved search on Cars.com to email me whenever a used 2017 Ridgeline showed up in their listings within any distance from my ZIP code. As of this post, there are 14 currently listed - most of those at Honda dealers. However, a significant number of the few dozen I've seen come and go over the last several weeks have been at Chevrolet dealerships. Frequently, a free CARFAX or AutoCheck report becomes available days after the listings appears. Based on these reports, it appears there have been several individuals buy 2017 Ridgelines then trade them in at Chevrolet dealerships.

What you are mostly seeing here are the demos that Honda would not let the dealers sell for 120 days.
I spoke with one sales manager who said his dealership's owner was going to drive theirs and was going to add several thousand dollars of accessories.

Before the link died I noticed several selling were higher than MSRP even with 1500 or so miles on 'em, probably because the dealer added stuff. RTL Es have become extremely rare and future allotments are being sold weeks before delivery.
Hmmm. I realize CARFAX is from perfect and reporting requirements vary based on location, but the evidence in the CARFAX reports seems to indicate that most of these vehicles were purchased by individuals and traded in a short time later based on clues such as:

"Registered as personal vehicle"
"Lien reported"
"New owner"
"Vehicle sold"
"Service contract issued"
Being offered for sale at a different dealer than the original dealer
Vehicle registered in a city far away from the city where the dealer is located

These types of entries typically don't appear on new, unsold, or demo vehicles.

I really like my E but if there's a sucker - I mean consumer - that just can't wait and wants to offer more than MSRP I'd sell in a heartbeat. I love to make money.
I'd sell mine AT MSRP then I'd go buy back the CR-V I traded in for it, which is currently being advertised for less than what I sold it to the dealer for and still make a couple grand.

1) Buyers remorse - Some purchased thier RLs sight unseen
2) Something happened to those 10 demos in Texas. Maybe sold at auction. I wouldn't put it past Chevy to make it appear as if people traded in their RLs for a Chevy. They have been attacking Ford's aluminum bed pretty hard.
Are you referring to the 69 Ridgelines that were used at the Camp Ridgeline Contest? It is believed those were pre-production units that were either scrapped, sacrificed for crash testing, and/or disassembled for evaluation and were never sold to the public.

Here's the first one I've seen advertised on cars.com by a private seller - an RT (although it says RTL at the top) with 894 miles.

https://www.cars.com/vehicledetail/detail/681912965/overview/

"This a new style Ridgeline RT model with custom Leather heated seats . The leather is Catzkin and its two tone perforated w/ heating and contrasting stitching [2,200.00 add by the way}. Very sharp looking. The vehicle has less than 1000 miles on it. I am only selling because it is a bit too large for my garage and parking where I work. This truck was $34,950 w the leather and remote start added. Hate to sell but it just doesn't work for me space wise. Drives beautifully getting 23-24 mpg currently. Honda isn't building a lot of these so they are not easy to find, and dealers are not discounting much if any ..Sacrifice 33,500.00. Have 8year 120k warranty for 1500.00 more if wanted. Otherwise it can be cancelled."

Anyone on here?
