visor vanity mirrors

I purchased a new RTL.....interior is nice with many amenities.....except the visor vanity mirrors are not illuminated This is a basic item on most entry level vehicles. With all the interior appointments on the RTL......why not include illuminated visor vanity mirrors?

The 2017 RTL interior is nicely appointed.....many accessories including leather power seats......but it does not have illuminated visor vanity mirrors. This feature is normally found on entry level vehicles. The RTL-T is differentiated by technology....including navigation. it is not necessary to leave off basic features to get buyers to go to higher trim levels.....insulting!

After just purchasing my 6th Honda in the last 15 years this is how Honda has pretty much done it on their models. I have always in most cases purchased the top line model just for this reason, I like the convenience of nice options and appointments. My new RL is a RTL-T AWD the model I picked because it got me all the features I wanted, main reason was because I could do without the sunroof and the electronic driving systems on the E model. Things like the upgrade radio and navigation system I did want and I probably would have purchased the E model if the T model was not available with these options. One thing that you need to remember about Honda is they build their vehicles to last and be dependable and that's why the majority of Honda buyers, buy Honda's. It's just in the last few years that all the upgrades features have been available in Honda's, but they do only offer these features in their upper models, remember most Honda buyers don't purchase these models at this time, time will change things. The RL is becoming the exception to this, from what I see on dealer lots and read this forum, the upper models are in demand much more then ever in the past, units like the RTS and RTL are much easier to find and are not selling as fast as the T, E, and BE models. I guess if you want a less expensive vehicle with all these upgrades you need to visit one of the big 3 U.S. auto manufactures, they offer vehicles like this, but them again, it's not a Honda. Remember Honda owners have different values when it comes to their vehicles they drive, they don't have the Chevy/Ford mentality, I'm not saying that's good or bad, it's just a way of thinking.

Do you want the real answer, or the nice one that can be posted on this forum. The nice answer is, Honda has no idea how to group their accessories that make any sense to anyone, but them.

I purchased the RTL-T model and it DOES have the lighted vanity mirrors. Perhaps I misread your opening statement, but under the lift flap are the vanity mirror and side lights.
Anyone know if it would be an easy upgrade to put them in on the RTL ? I too find it kinda stupid that they don't have it in the mid trim models. I can see not being there on a basic model but one with Leather seats and heated to boot you'd think would have something as simple as a lighted vanity mirror.

I've had my BE since the start of August... didn't know it had illuminated vanity mirrors until reading this thread.
Guess I've not had a reason to put makeup on at night while at a stop light or worse while driving.

Use of vanity mirrors at stop lights... insulting!
Illuminated vanity visor mirrors are primarily for the benefit of the passenger....a nice convenience when taking the RL for a night out as seen in the commercials. The question is why not include inexpensive common basic features such as illuminated vanity visor mirrors and automatic dimming rearview mirror (can be purchased as an accessory for about $50) on the RTL which is an upgrade over the RTS primarily for interior items like leather power heated seats, leather wrapped steering wheel and leather trimmed interior. To carry a step further why does it take RTL-E to get courtesy door lights and conversation mirror with the sunglass holder (conversation mirror attached to sunglass holder couldn't cost much and the sunglass holder has a stop position for it's use anyway) I'm just saying the significant additional features added with each trim level have added value worthy of the additional cost.....it is not necessary to withhold inexpensive basic features on very nicely appointed trim levels in order to further differentiate between trims or entice buyers to purchase a higher trim level just to get an inexpensive basic feature.

I wish i had more time to search more specs on other vehicles... even the F150 doesnt have illuminated visors with the XLT.
... pics show the 2017 Colorado and the 2017 Frontier... mind you these are from Canadian Spec Models.
