Still trying to figure out what this tray or shelf above the passenger glove box is practical for. It's a bit of a reach from the driver seat, so the only thing I can really figure is a place for my wife to put her cell phone while it's charging. I usually put mine in one of the cupholders to hold it while charging.

If you have some practical idea of what this tray can be used for (in a primarily solo daily driver vehicle), I'd love to hear it.

That's about the handiest spot there is for things you don't really want to put away when on an extended drive, e.g. road trip. If it fits there, you can stow it there temporarily (small snacks, phone, toll tokens, literally anything that's not too big). All of this presumes a co-pilot!

I guess that's where I'm coming from, it's not the most convenient place for me as a driver to keep things handy. My wife on the other hand will probably love it if we ever take my truck on a long road trip. But for me, driving back and forth to work or around town, I can't imagine using it for anything.

.... well that shouldn't be too surprising! You don't use the back seat cup holders either if you're in the driver's seat! :act060: :act024: :act024: :act029:

There are 3 trays there. One holds extra napkins, another holds a small umbrella and the last I keep open for my wife to use when she's sitting there (usually sunglasses or cellphone). In other words, nothing that I need on a day to day basis.

I don't like "stuff" in my vehicles, so for me it is of no value. I just see it as another uneven surface to have to wipe dust off of.

Apparently showing off your stainless cubby cover is a great use for it. Other than that, stuff that won't fit in the useless compartment with the door under the radio.

About 30 years ago my girls gave me a stuffed pink panther and he's been riding with me all these years. That's where he laid during my RL time.

Now he's back to standing upright, between the flipped up rear seat cushion and backrest (the dogs area).

I should have mentioned my best bud forever that rides there with us.
You can see we also have a couple of loose items (pencil, floss, etc.), but Shiloh keeps us company non-stop.

Shiloh was the best dog ever, of course! He grew up with our kids, and loved the snow in the Sierras (as seen in this pic). And now he goes everywhere with us still. It's appropriate that his pic is a bit dog-eared. He loved the snow & going on those long road trips with us in the RL. It's nice to still have him around.

I have 5s cubby cover as well. Wife still thinks it was standard with the vehicle!

I have a spare flashlight, spare sunglasses and napkins and wet ones in a plastic bag in there. The cubby cover "for me" is icing on the cake in the vehicle. I hope that makes sense.

That spot is a good spot for easy access nit nacks.

In the over five years I've had my truck, I don't think I've ever actually put anything in there. I use the area below the console lid for most of my receipts and other junk. I don't really keep much of anything laying around in my vehicles. I like keeping them clean. Plus, as was mentioned, that cubby area is a little hard to reach from the driver's seat. My wife, on the other hand, puts anything she can in there. I'm certain she'd try to stuff a Thanksgiving turkey in there if she could.
