*** POST your pics of hauling and/or towing ***

Just thought it would be fun to see the various uses of the G2 Ridgeline's versatility in hauling stuff in the bed and/or towing... I've seen a number of pics in various threads but thought it would be good to put all into one thread.

This was mine over the weekend hauling musical instrument/PA gear for a gig on Saturday night, with room in the front and back seats for my wife and 22 yr old son to help "roadie"... I found that it can haul as much gear as my 2005 Chevy Avalanche did with the RL's back seat flip up and in bed trunk.

Guitars, Amp head in roadcase, 3 level toolbox with cables and gear, 18" powered subwoofer, (2x) 12" powered speakers, Effects rack, Mixer, 4x12 speaker cab (backseat area), various mic/speaker stands, etc.

The "Regular Joe", which is the 18" was $779 plus tax. They also throw in a cover and some starter stuff. The best deal around if you're in the market for that model, they're $1k everywhere else. Plus you get Costco's warranty. They're not always at Costco, just two week events, schedule is here...

https://www.costco.com/kamado-joe-schedule.html

They were flying off the shelves, first day it was there and an hour after opening and there were 4-5 people grabbing one. One guy said he drove 3 hours. Per my research, it doesn't appear they go on sale anywhere except for the Costco event.
I looked for one in Colorado and did not see anything until I looked under San Diego. Guess Arvada, CO is on the way to San Diego.
Just a small load, getting the garden ready here in Colorado. Thankfully the small bags were on sale. My wife hurt her knee so she was not there to do the heavy lifting.

Made a quick trip to Lowes for a couple of new sinks for the bathroom. It started raining out, so I used the only covered area I had. I am continually appreciative of the feature of the fold-up rear seats.

Just normal items - a queen size mattress. Popped off my UltraFlex tonneau in about 3 minutes. I enjoy the Ridgeline more every time I use it. People always ask how I like the Ridgeline.

Bedroom stuff. Few hundo pounds.
I am just guessing, but my load looks easier to put together!
I mean take the picture in landscape orientation.

Oh, you mean fix the picture. I don’t think that will be a problem. ;j

Edit: thanks to longboat for that round tuit, I 'fixed' the image rotation. ;)
It makes no difference on my IPhone 7+ whether I take it in landscape or portrait mode. I have resigned myself to this ridiculous procedure if I need to post a pic on this forum.

I take the picture, then send it to my email, then save it to my computer, then upload it to this site, and it comes out perfect.

Short story: the tool box/chest in the garage tipped forward onto one of my sons (32 years old - no one was hurt).

Longer version: the boys were working on their new 2002 Acura RSX S edition; replacing the clutch, and rebuilding the transmission. A lot of the tools were on the work bench rather than in the tool box. One of my sons was getting some more necessary items out of the toolbox, when he inadvertently left three of the drawers on the lower portion of the chest open, during his search. That caused the entire tool box to tip forward on my son, after a minute or two of him leaving the box. Needless to say, I need a new toolbox as the rails were ripped from the box when the drawers fell out.

I had a Costco brand (CSPS) which is nice, but a little unbalanced. We were just talking about securing it to the wall, three days prior to the incident. I should have done it.

Went to Lowes and found an expensive tool chest combo unit (MSRP $2000) on clearance for $999. That is a little more than I wanted to spend on a tool chest, but it was much better built than the Craftsman alternative. We lifted the top section into the bed of the Ridgeline, but had to use a forklift to place the lower section into the truck. The employee at Lowes was surprised that the Ridgeline did not have the normal wheel well configuration. This unit has much more substantial wheels, but it did come with straps to secure it to the wall, which I will be using.

I placed the UltraFlex tonneau cover in the second row of the Ridgeline, so I could get the tailgate closed. With the tonneau still on the vehicle, the load extended 1/2" beyond the bed.

The Ridgeline has not failed me yet. I have managed to fit various items in the bed of this RL: snowblower, riding lawn mower, Traeger smoker, CSPS tool chest, refrigerator, etc.

I wanted so bad to use the Ridgeline to haul home 60 cases of water, but I thought better of it and rented a Home Depot flatbed PU. I figured 60 cases of 24 pack 16.8 oz water would have been overloading the Ridgeline. It was a donation for our church.

This is the first time the Ridge let me down. Or maybe, it was the amateur forklift driver who would have destroyed my RL, who made me go in a different direction. I was a little concerned about the pallet of water tipping forward a bit with the Ridgeline and I had to travel around 30 miles through/around Denver traffic.

Made a normal HD run and came home with these Toro Recycler 22” 60V electric lawn mowers with the Personal pace system.

Normally they are too expensive, but they were marked down from $549 to $299. Got one for my brother also. I have a relatively new Honda HRX217HZA, but that thing is heavy.

Actually no, though my other daughter did graduate from UW and is now a grad student in Psychology at the University of Nebraska in Lincoln. One brother graduated from UW, and the other from U of Minnesota.

This daughter is a vet tech who did her studies in Denver. She is planning on going to nursing school here next year.
The hospitals can barely keep enough staff between those quitting and those graduating. Good luck to your daughter. I personally know 4 young people who just graduated from nursing school.

Hauled 4 wheels/tires home from Discount Tire for my son's GX460. They are considerably larger than the RL tires, so we had to do some stacking. Only got a photo of two of them in the bed. My son asked me if these tires would have fit in the bed of the Santa Cruz. My answer, "Maybe, stacked 4 high."

Put about 700 lbs in the back of the Ridgeline. That was the easy part.

30 bags of mulch. I'd also show how little they covered of my wife's HUGH flower garden all around our property but that makes me sad how much more I'll need!! :(

Maybe 500 lbs of "River Pebbles" to finish off the new red paver front walk. I paid a pro to do the pavers, I did the EASY part!!! View attachment 427243 View attachment 427244
I like your pavers and rock work. Nice that the Ridgeline could get in on the action.

Just got it mounted and hooked up. Haven't had much time to watch it yet, but looks like a beauty so far. It's the UH8. If you Google it, it's pretty highly rated. Best Buy had it for $899, and it looks like to get a slightly better picture, I'd have to step up to a $1599 Samsung. I cam live with the $700 savings. And.... Best Buy took my old plasma!

It seems like Hisense's high-end stuff is like the Genesis of the luxury car world.

As an aside, we also got a 32" 4k Samsung for the dining room. A little price for a 32", but we justified it since that is the TV we watch the most. These two tvs are the first 4k we've had/seen, and it's a different world, even watching old DVDs! Everything is new again!

"Ridgeline hauling" content: the 65" TV did not fit in the back seat, the box was a couple inches too long. So I strappednit down kitty-corner into the bed. For the 75-mile trip home, I was thankful I had a soft-riding Ridgeline instead of one of those rough bouncy BoF trucks!
It's amazing how far the prices have fallen on TV's 55" or larger. We are still waiting for our 58" Samsung plasma (12 years old) to bite the dust, so we can "upgrade." My wife is smitten by the "red" glass outline on the frame of the current plasma, so she never wants it to die. I will admit it does look pretty cool, much better than the metal frames on the current units.

Thanks! Thinking of picking up a set. I appreciate your insight.
I have a set of four ratcheting straps and they are the best thing I have purchased for the Ridgeline. I ordered the smaller 1" width, but I have had them over four years now and they still work like new. They are priced at $55 and have a clear storage case which keeps them nice and tidy.

Brought a variety of garden soil home for the wife. I am hoping she will like one of the varieties. I used four bags on the lawn that had a tough winter. I did not like the dirt in the yellow bag as much as the one in the white bag. I ended up leaving her the expensive stuff ($8) in the black bag.

Miracle Grow has a lot of different choices, but Mountain Dew still holds the crown for spin-offs. Am I wrong for protecting my bedrug from the dirt with a blanket? ;)

We took our vehicle on the Jamestown-Scotland ferry in Williamsburg, VA. It was pretty interesting. That weaving loom looks like it will take up quite a bit of real estate in your home. :)
Yes! In a second floor bedroom! As we huffed and puffed, groaned and moaned, (and questioning our sanity with each step), we agreed that the children will be left with the task of relocating the loom upon our demise. : )
Our kids are dreading our passing as we have a 5' 10" grand piano, an upright piano, and a million books.
