This truck was unveiled yesterday, and I have to say that it is the most innovative truck I have seen since the Ridgeline debuted. Fantastic classic styling, superior off-roadability, converts from SUV to truck, can carry 12' 2x4s fully-enclosed within the truck, and, like the Ridgeline, can carry full sheets of plywood between the wheel wells. And it fits in the garage much easier than the Ridgeline!
Downsides: it is not available (yet), at least a year out, and will cost around $60k for a seemingly barebones vehicle.
Plot: Bollinger is looking for a mfr to build the truck.
Plot twist: Perhaps Honda could take a shot at partnering with Bollinger?
This truck is everything that Honda automobiles is not. It is as manly as you can get, aggressive, superior off-roadability (yes, i said it again) and likely relatively inefficient from a transportation perspective.
OTOH, it has the same spirit as Honda. It is an engineer's wet dream. Fantastic utilization and design of the body space. A look ahead into the future with its electric powertrain and advanced suspension.
Combine this concept with Honda's capability, and the vehicle product would have value beyond measure for restoring people's faith in Honda.
Other ideas:
Honda could design a Clarity variant around the Bolinger B1.
Honda could re-design one of their famous generators for high-amperage output to charge the B1 at the campground. Carry it with you on longer trips or when hauling heavy over a distance.
Endless possibilities here. This could be a Golden (Brass?) Ring for Honda. Are you listening, Honda?
