I paired an Pixel XL with my G2. BE in January with no issues. Voice command stopped working a couple of weeks ago. I took the truck in today for repair. On the way voice command started working but phone would not pair. When I arrived at service dept. I re-paired my phone and voice command quit working. After looking for the problem the service department told me Pixel is not on the list of compatible phones and they don't know how I was able to pair. We tried to re-pair the Pixel and it worked but voice command would not work. Service manager said try the wife's Samsung phone to see if we had a conflict. On the way home everything started working again.
Does anyone else use a Pixel or pixel XL paired with their G2 and have you experienced any conflicts with it?
Thanks, John West

I don't have a Pixel, but I do have a Nexus 5x. I have constant bluetooth issues with this phone and the Ridgeline. The connection will drop and then reconnect every few seconds. Sometimes it will connect and stay connected. I get text messages through bluetooth about 10% of the time. I tried to re-pair it several times. The last time it took 5 attempts before it would pair. This seems to be an issue with Android 7 and now 8. There are lots of people complaining about it. I am not sure if this is the issue with the Pixel, but both phones are from google.

This week, I bought a Moto Z phone. It paired immediately with the Ridgeline. The text messaging seems to work 100% of the time. That gives more evidence that this is a problem with the Ridgeline and google phones.

Pixel XL update. Now the only way I can get the phone to pair is to plug it in to the front USB connection and press smart phone button on the home screen. Once it connects with Android Auto, it will also connect blue tooth and I can unplug it. Blue tooth will stay connected for the day while getting in and out of the truck for shopping.
By the way, the blue tooth connection work fine between January and September. I think problems started with update 8.0, Oreo on the phone.

I've been using my Pixel XL since I purchased my RTL-E in July - no connection issues at all. I have had fairly consistent issues with voice recognition that I don't necessarily think are related to the Pixel XL. If I use the voice guided prompts and say "Call {wifes name}, Mobile" - frequently I'll get back "Dial #39..." or something completely random. I typically plug my phone into Android Auto which works flawlessly on voice recognition but it is annoying.

I have a 2014 RTL-Nav. Looking at a 2018. It will pair with my Pixel - and last until I shut off the truck. Got to re-pair next start. Thought the Gen 2 might have fixed this. Looking at Post 2 link - Honda doesn't believe Google exists. The crap Radio Shack 1080s electronics may drive me to Brand X - love the truck, hate the stone age electronics. Or buy a stripped down model with the intent to take it for an electronics upgrade.

I own a Pixel 3 and it has no problems connecting to my 2017 Ridgeline. Be certain to do a hard reset of your phone, update the software on the phone, and update any apps you are using such as Android Auto.
