Honda link relies on i assume the 3g mobile data hubs in most cars. Anyone know where ours is hidden? Would like to yank the antenna connection and or sim card from it.

That's correct. The Ridgeline does have Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, but no cellular connectivity.
The Insight Touring, Accord Touring, Pilot Touring and up, Passport Touring and up, and Odyssey Touring and up are the only Honda models that come with a cellular modem.
However, your audio-navigation system has the capability to collect data that can be shared with others via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and ODB II port connections.
That explains why we can't get the added features for remote start and such. Thanks! I'm curious that the app is pulling for the limited information hondalink gets that it sends you, must be cached and updated when it gets signal.
To be clear, I’d disable the car’s ability to communicate autonomously if it was mine, too. Your rhyme is very accurate. I just thought it a humorous juxtaposition. (-:
I was in a Jetta loaner this week while having a recall performed on my CX-5. While vacuuming the interior to my standards, I found this little guy dangling from the ODB II port. Some research beginning with the device's FCC ID# revealed it to be a cellular modem and GPS tracker for monitoring location, driving behavior, and vehicle status. I promptly disconnected it since it was less than 20cm from my left leg. Safety first!
