I bought my 2021 Red Metallic Honda Ridgeline Sport in the San Diego area a couple months ago for MSRP and absolutely love the color with black trim.

I installed a Tuwa Pro over landing type rack with a RetraxPro MX tonneau cover. I installed the Tuwa Pro myself, but had the RetraxPro dealer installed, which was well worth the cost - I don’t think I would’ve been able to do it myself. I love the look, setup and versatility it provides. The tonneau can open with the tailgate open or closed and locks in place anywhere along the rail.

I can see easily out my rear window and have noticed zero wind noise. The rear center brake light is also visible. I carry my stand up paddle boards on top and throw the beach chairs, paddles and umbrellas in the truck bed. I also have a RaceFace medium tailgate pad I use to carry mountain bikes to the trail. In the winter I plan to take a ski trip to Utah and look forward to being able to just throw my skis and gear underneath the tonneau cover.

I considered this cover, but decided against it because the canister takes-up a lot bed space. My previous truck (a Tacoma) had a cover with a canister and while I liked the cover, I didn’t like the trade-off (in available bed space) — so I went with the BAK Revolver X4s which rolls-up on top of the rails. But I don’t have everything you have above the bed.

The BAK Revolver X4s is the tonneau cover I wanted for the very same reason. Installers said they didn’t think they could make that happen.

I was pleasantly surprised at how nice the ReTrax is - fortunately, I can still slide skis and paddles under the canister and hang a mountain bike over the tailgate - so I guess it leaves enough room in the bed that I need

SoCal Truck. Very impressed with their work - had to pay for 4 hours of labor and they needed all of it to figure out how to make it work. I was very thankful for their efforts and happy with the results. Other shops would not even try.

Nice set up @RidgeSki ! Are you thinking off adding a BedRug or bed protection for moving your gear in & out without scratching the bed up?
Thanks - hadn’t thought of that - just figured it was a composite truck bed and didn’t need to worry about it. I’ll see how it goes

Just ordered MX One. From looking at your install I also ordered a 1/4 inch Foam Rubber Seal Strip 2 inch wide. Looking at what OP installer did. I have Tuwa Pro headache chase bar installed. So was in the same place,. But now with the retractable cover it should be a heck of a lot easier to keep truck bed clean. Also more space in the trunk

Just di my own install of Tuwa Pro headache rack and Retrax MX one
What a pain in the ass it was. Until I realized to ditch the Retrax rails and mount it to the bed rail system. After that it was easy peasy.

to the OP of this thread. You really did your self a favor paying some one else to do it. Because I was starting to hate life after about 4 hours of this BS

Yes - I installed the Tuwa Pro Rack first myself. Not hard. Then went around to various Tonneau cover installers. The first one said no. The second one did it, but was not an easy install for them, and took them the better part of 4 hours. Very happy with the install and functionality of it all. And, yes, I was happy to pay the few hundred dollars cash to have someone else install the tonneau cover.
