Will 17" wheels fit properly on a 2021 Ridgeline?

Hello all, with winter just around the corner here in WA State I have been furiously (does anybody actually talk like that) searching for confirmation that a 17" wheel will properly fit on my '21 BE? The dealership was no help and I have an appointment at a local Discount Tire center to check fitment. I am looking to put on some Blizzaks DMV2's, if anybody has already put 17's on or has done a fitment check and found no issues, then I would be most great full.
Thank you in advance.

I went to Discount tire and they did a great job helping me get 17" wheels on my new SC. Had to go back twice as the first set the backspace wasn't enough. They were super easy to deal with and even matched Costco's $150 refund on 4 new Michelin's! They couldn't get the TPMS I needed so we swapped the OEM over. They said once they can get them they'll install them and program at no extra charge (other than the cost of the TMPS sensors of course). Got their road hazard warranty for $99 includes all four tires (which BTW the dealer was asking $450 for...HA!), free balance, rotation and air anytime for the life of the tires. I'd definately go back again.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe the width of the wheel CAN be an important factor along with the offset. The oem wheels are 8" wide, which I think is a pretty standard, or average, size. I think you probably want to avoid like 10" wide wheels, which probably goes without saying. Just something to keep in mind.

For instance, concerning the inside rim of the wheel and clearance with suspension components, an 8" wide wheel with a 55mm offset would have the same clearance as a 10" wide wheel with a 20mm offset.

Fortunately, I think most wheels are 7.5" to 8.5", so this is most likely a non-issue.

Yes, this is true. On my SC the stock wheels were 20"x7.5" with 50mm offset and I wanted 17"x7.5" 50mm offset. The wheels I chose were only available in 8" with 45mm offset. They hit the caliper due to the design. Had to go with 30mm offset and they just barely cleared the caliper. They do stick out just a bit further than stock due to the offset and width difference. Would like to get some wider fender flares to help keep winter muck off but will have to wait until some aftermarket ones show up. Thats whats nice about a good tire dealer that lets you try before you buy.

Yes. They will fit. Talk to Tirerack.com directly [by phone] and they'll step through all types of options that will work with your '21. Remember, it's not just the size of the wheel. You have to consider the offset. The Gen 2.5 has a wider stance than previous models. I found the folks at Tirerack to be right on the money.

Thank you to all; I went to Discount Tire today and they were able to install the 17’s. Quite a good group of techs, they took their time and since this was the first ‘21 Ridgeline trying out 17’s, they double checked each step. I was impressed and pleased with the whole process.

I have 17" Gen 1 RL steel rims that I bought used that I will be using on my 22 RL soon. Glad the fitment went well. Did you get the sensors? I ran mine on my current 18 RL with no sensors and the light on all winter. Thinking about adding the sensors this year. Picking up my 22 Sport next week. (y)

I'm 83% sure those are 245/65/17. Figuratively the exact same diameter as stock.

Since he is a crazy old man, I was expecting like cheap-o steel wheels, or something, because they were just for winter tires. I actually really like the wheels he got. Lookin' good......

I know Discount really does knocks themselves out to make things right. Sure did on mine. Plus, now you don't have to change back if you keep your stockers as they will do it for you (and check air and rotate anytime) for free. I tried finding some plain old aftermarket steel wheels as I wanted baby moons and beauty rings but had no luck finding them for a newer vehicle like ours. Also you shouldn't have to worry about alignment since everything is so close. Good job!

Yes, I did get the sensors, actually from a link here in this Forum, there are several links to Honda zone parts, this link showed the best price. The sensors were packaged in Honda OEM bags. Out the door with shipping was $82. best price I found and I would highly recommend them again. I am pretty sure the company is based in Georgia, USA.

WOW! That's dirt cheap. Discount Tire wants $60 each for my Santa Cruz... and they can't even get them yet since it's so new!! Glad I move my stock ones over and put valve stem in them. I'll wait until the price comes down (hopefully).

I ran into the same issue, I looked all over for specs on '21 TPMS sensors and most tire shops' systems showed no data. I agree that they were dirt cheap, but came in a Honda spec'ed bag and were of good quality, I was a little worried when the tire techs at Discount all huddled around the new rims with the TPMS's in hand, but it was to train a "new guy". How do you like your SC?

Love it! So far so good. Turbo screams... atleast it feels like it to me. Almost exact same mpg as my Ridgeline. All the tech is pretty sweet especially the birds eye cameras. A bit tighter than the Ridgeline but that's what I wanted especially for parking... something more akin to my Baja. Don't haul much but it's sure nice when you do.
