This is why I bought a Sport model. I do not want my vehicle trying to tell me how to drive or actually drive for me.
The Sport has all of these features, if you want to call them that.

I like the ACC and Lane Keeping Assist on long drives. The head on collision warning is alright; if you live in an area with lots of curvy roads that are only divided by yellow lines, there are a lot of false positives, but this seems like something that's hard to prevent, as you're headed directly at oncoming traffic in these cases.

Before purchasing the Ridgeline I read about it, really thought these problems were addressed on the 2023 model since I didn’t find any recalls on it. The truck had 2 miles on the odometer so I doubt it was involved in a collision before. It seems people are “ok” with these problems and just accept them as is, im not. I understand how these systems work and I know they have their flaws but what I experienced was not normal and was not safe, it almost caused an accident on several occasions. The truck is going back to Honda dealership today to get those issues fixed, they have 4 attempts to correct them, if they fail to fix it im going to claim the Lemon Law on them and they will have to purchase back the vehicle. At that point I’ll wait foe the 2024 to come out or go with a Tacoma.
Sounds like you've got the proper plan which will be infinitely more effective at bringing about a resolution than reporting the issues on here.

And, new vehicles get damaged every day without being driven. I've seen them fall off of overturned auto haulers, collide with other vehicles or objects while being moved around on dealer lots, get hit by other vehicles while parked, etc. Odometer readings aren't very good indicators of a vehicle's history. :) Sometimes, a problem will be found during the pre-delivery inspection (on those rare occasions that the dealer actually inspects the vehicle instead of just blindly checking off boxes so they can get paid for that job and move on to the next) that requires a repair involving removal and reinstallation of the front bumper and grille which could have lead to the issues.

if this is the case, and you’ve only had a truck for a very short period of time, and already had “several occasions” where it “almost” cause you to be involved in accidents then it’s not the norm. Nobody here would be OK with things as you described. Although the system is not perfect, I’ve never heard of anybody having multiple close calls or accidents within a few hundred miles. If this is true, somethings wrong, your dealer needs to fix it. Otherwise, I agree, sell it and buy another make and model

I find a lot of these problems interesting. I have been using my Ridgeline on highway and the ACC, works great. Yes, it will stop hard if someone cuts me off but when someone merges over and there is adequate room, my truck brakes but brakes lightly. I think the ACC is great albeit, not something that I would use during heavy traffic. The sensors for parking work great. The lane departure, I have noticed can be finicky depending on the quality of the road but it is so limited that my truck ever drifts from the lane I am in, I don't notice it.

Mine is unusable unless there is no traffic. If there is any traffic, it gets so herky jerky trying to follow vehicles it makes my passengers sick. It's always on the gas and tapping the brakes trying to keep a following speed. I don't even bother anymore and have just reverted mine back to normal cruise.

Same with the collision mitigation, if I'm going to be on curvy 2 lane roads where it's constantly confused by oncoming traffic around bends, I just disable it.

If they fix these in the G3\refresh or whatever comes out next, that may tempt me to upgrade to not have to deal with all this half-baked tech. We'll see...

I hope the dealer is able to find and fix something and you end up having a good ownership experience. I believe however they will not be able to get everything working to expectations, my 21 BE sure doesn't but knew that going in and live with it as the Ridgeline is perfect for my uses. If you don't get resolution to your satisfaction, I hope you can use a lemon law. I am afraid this may be the only way to force Honda to improve things.

This is exactly my experience as well. There is no smoothness to the vehicle's operation when other vehicles are on the road.
Honda forgot to program in any buffer zone. The computer thinks it must maintain exactly xx feet of distance between other cars...if there is 1' less distance, it jams the breaks...if there is 1' more distance, it rockets forward.

Just got back from dropping the Ridgeline at the dealership. Service Manager made it sound like that was “normal”. He was explaining the system works like that when a vehicle is in-front of you like I was a moron. I told him no, the vehicle is not safe and will 100% end up causing an accident. They said if they cant replicate the problem, then there is nothing they can do. Now im forced to install an indash camera so I can catch the problem when it happens. They still have to fix the front parking sensors so they gave me a loaner car, which is another BE Ridgeline, so I will be testing the ACC on that one and report back.

I usually keep my ACC set to distance level 3 or 4 to mitigate damage from rocks being thrown up by leading vehicles. When I set it to distance 1, it becomes annoyingly jerky.

I would definitely do that but Colorado drivers ride you butt so bad I struggle to keep that much distance between myself and the car in front of me.

I'm sorry that this is happening with a truck, I barely have mine since last week (2023 RTL-E) I hope I don't go through the same thing, but I would like you to let us know if you were able to repair the defects or how this ended, thanks

I would not worry about this too much. I’ve had my 2023 black edition since last October and have over 9000 miles on it and could not be happier. There’s a few minor things I wish were better, but overall I love the vehicle. I’m sorry the OP is going through these problems, hopefully he can get that resolved.

Shame Honda took the power rear slider away from the Sport. I personally don't need nor want a higher trim level but... that damn rear slider I do use all the time.

Mine is a 2018 model. :)

I hate to say it, but I think most of those things are just how the truck operates. Yes it’s not right, but this has been many users including myself since 2017 model. My sensors do that often where they’ll just consistently go off until I hit them off. Usually the rain does it for me. The collision detection is awful. If I’m on a bend and there’s cars in the other lane oncoming, it goes off yelling at me to brake. The adaptive cruise does the same thing to me as you’re experiencing. I keep lane keep assist turned off because it shakes the wheel at me when I’m in the center of my line. Very frustrating.
Completely disagree. My 2022 BE performs each of these as I would expect. I would definitely get it back to the dealer for service.
