I love caps on Ridgelines. Unfortunately they're ridiculously expensive and the limited use market means there's very few available second hand and even those command a lot of money. I want one but there's even more things I want with that $3k.

This one is available and it's my color even. A little pricey for me but it's the right color even. Hmmmmm.....

Good choice! I went with ARE & regret every bit including the crappy install. Debris from shipping, exposed wiring, unclipped zip ties and a rattle underneath since I left the ARE dealer, Leonard in Kingsland, Georgia. The paint match was perfect and the lock is in sync with the key fob, but that's really about it for the good. Neither the dealer nor ARE will respond to me.

Picked up a Leer cap for my 2019 Ridgeline from Trails West in Pataskala , Oh , just East of Columbus. Very Happy with the Leer fit .
They are pricey at roughly $2700 but Trails West was about $300-$500 less than all other vendors in the Columbus area.

Looks great! I've got a Leer on order, probably be another month before it comes. Seeing yours makes me feel good about choosing it over the ARE. You got a much better price than I did, though! Nobody around here offers any discounts at all.

Cannot believe how much these cost now. Used to be $1,500- $1,800 installed. At $3,100 installed, they shouldn't leak.

I don’t think he is selling it. He was/is simply discussing his new purchase (well, new in July) and sharing pictures. You may want to head over the the Classifieds/Trading Post section of the forum and look around over there. 😀

Welcome, btw!

For anybody with the Leer cap (or any other cap, really), does it have any internal structure other than the fiberglass shell? I emailed back and forth with a local dealer just last week, and they said it is only rated for a load of 150 pounds on top, despite having an option for a Yakima rack.

Is that correct? I've seen tents on caps on other trucks and I'd like to replace my bed rack with a cap, for the added functionality, but it has to carry my rooftop tent. Can the Leer do this, or might there be a better option? My tent is under 150 pounds, but with 2 of us in it the static load would be closer to 500. Sorry if this has been answered, didn't see an obvious answer in search results and this was the most recently active cap thread.
