Hi

Not sure if anyone have the same issue like mine..when connected to Android Auto (RTL-E), the music playing volume is normal/loud. .. but on navigation or when receiving messages... the volume is so low.

I have tried re-paired my phone (Samsung Note5) but still the same.

Using Apps which have separate volume options will require they be adjusted while using the Navigation App. In Waze, my Nav App of choice, dig into the settings and under 'sounds' there will be many audio options.

Hope this helps.

I have a Samsung phone and the text reading volume is way to low and muted. I've raised every volume control on the phone and on the car, the volume is too low and muted. Honda should fix this because it's causing me to have to pick up my phone and read the texts/messages.

Have you tried turning up the volume while the text reading is playing?

I have the same issue! I've called Honda directly and they keep telling me there is no software update available. Stupid Volume Control on Truck will not go past 11. I've brought my 2021 Ridgeline into Service Dept and they say the same thing. This has become a Safety Issue since I have to lean my head below the Steering Wheel while driving 70 mph just to hear the text. Crazy....

It's really ridiculous that they limit the volume to '11'. First, why not 10, or another round number? So weird and arbitrary. And why limit it to such a low volume (actual output, regardless of what the volume "number" is)? Makes no sense whatsoever.

I was in a rental Jeep Wrangler recently, which has orders of magnitude more road noise, and it let me turn the CarPlay volume up so loud that it was too loud - I never found what the limit was.

On the Ridgeline during a road-trip, I ran CarPlay off my phone for music and Waze (for the alerts), and then we ran Apple Maps navigation off another phone and just used the built-in phone speaker. Even that setup, where the music was not lowering the volume during nav prompts like it would be doing if I was running both music and nav on the one phone, was easier to hear than the built-in speaker with the low limit.

I am experiencing the same issue, voice guidance is so low and level is maxed at 11 which is too low to hear over the radio. Hopeful there is a software update soon. No issues with voice command volume. Anyone know a fix? 2023 Ridgeline Sport owner.

Have you complained to the dealer. If there is a fix, that is the only way you will get it.

No, not yet. Hoping it is something I am doing wrong or setting adjustment. I just purchased the vehicle last Thursday. Love everything about the truck except for this. First time Honda owner and so far very impressed with the quality!

Just to make sure you're all doing this correctly- the voice guidance volume for Google Maps in Android Auto is not controlled by any of the settings in the Ridgeline system or the phone. You have to plug your phone into the car, go to Android Auto on the car screen, then go to Google Maps. In the bottom corner of the display there is a Settings button. Go into that and you'll see a setting for guidance volume. When you touch that, there will be an audio prompt to adjust the guidance volume using the volume knob on the car radio. It'll only give you a couple of seconds to do it, so do it as soon as you hear the prompt. You can turn it up as high as 11, which if you can't hear that then you should get your ears checked.

I get it's annoying but, how about put safety first and don't endanger everyone or yourself by doing that. That makes you the safety issue. Just wait until it's safe to listen. You want to hear the text...you don't have to.

Wellllll.....jbear555, I'm not "actually" doing that...just saying that is the ONLY way you could hear the text. What I'm having to do is wait till I come to a stop, then replay the text. You cannot hear the text if you are driving over 30 mph. It's sucks that this is still an issue with the 2023 Ridgelines as well. That means at least 3 years of trucks, 21,22,23 are having this same issue. I can confirm this because when I went to the dealer, I got into a 2023 Ridgeline with a Service Tech and paired my phone to it. The Volume Control for Text still maxes out at 11 and he told me unless there's a software fix, there's nothing else we can do. We also got into a 23 Pilot and the Text Volume can be adjusted as high as you want...blew us out the car! Come on Honda....please release a Software Update. FYI, I also called Samsung while "parked"....lol and had them take over my phone while it was paired in the truck. They tried everything on their end to raise the volume as well....to no avail. They said this is definitely a Honda Ridgeline software issue.
