Removed Honda Emblem on my 2024 BE Tailgate

Greetings All,

I removed the Honda Chrome Emblem from my tailgate and was going to replace it with the Black Emblem. Upon removing it, I decided I like this appearance better.

Any thoughts on keeping it this way or put on the Black Emblem?

I'd leave as is. Should I upgrade, I will remove any badging on tailgate. The embossed Ridgeline is enough. Of course, personal taste varies.

It looks good without the emblem.

I have no idea why Honda would put a chrome emblem on the BE. The only reason I can think of is Honda wants to sell black emblems as accessories.

With a black truck I see no point in black emblems. Leave as is.

I did the same with mine, though it’s white. If it didn’t have ridgeline embossed on the tailgate I would have put a black emblem on it, but I feel like it has enough going on. I vote leave it and paint the exhaust tips. Very easy project

You say "paint the exhaust tips. Very easy project." Just curious: do you think regular Rustoleum spray paint will work, or do you think we should use high temp engine paint on the exhaust tips?

I guess I'm the only one that likes the old school "HONDA" badge, as opposed to the "H" found on all other models. Reminds me of the 1G RL, and even classic models like the early-gen Civics of the 80's...

That's my plan as well. I''ve done it on my Miata badges and it's lasted 4 years so far. I want it matte black, not the gloss black like the one Honda sells.

That's the way to do a black BE. Maybe get the exhaust tips black too to complete the monochrome look.

Thanks for all the positive comments and I plan on keeping the clean look. The next step is to paint the exhaust tips black and get some black center caps.

I have a smoked transparent tint film for the H emblem on the front and smoked tint film for the front amber side reflectors. Waiting for the weather to get warmer to install these items.

I didn't find any "AWD" script on my '24, and the Black Edition shown only on the front grille.

Would love to know where you got those… because I have the HPD package grill, mine doesn’t say Black Edition anywhere on the exterior.

I put some painters tape above the emblem and used a heat gun to soften the adhesive and gently lifted the emblem using a plastic trim removal tool. I pressed the tool against the tape to pry off the emblem a little at a time until it was completely off without damaging the paint. I used some wax to remove the remaining adhesive.

A little goof-off will remove any residual glue. I would wax the area afterwards.

Comes right off with dental floss and a little heat. Leave it shaved.

Hmm.. Can you provide instructions/guidance, on how to safely removed the emblems?

I've always been successful using very thin nylon string or fishing line and a heat gun - warm up the emblem to soften the adhesive, then carefully go back and forth with the string through the enblem. Then use something like "glue-gone" to clean up the remaining adhesive on the paint.

I have used this method before and it also works great. When I removed my emblem 95% of the double sided adhesive was still on the emblem which made removing the remainder very easy. I'm assuming since it fresh off the assembly line made it easier to remove.

That looks good, I like your Ridgeline.

I will be putting on my smoked H emblem cover soon since the temps are getting warmer and will have several days of no rain. I already removed the Black Edition Logo from the grill.

Very. I went with a dry install. I cleaned the emblem with alcohol first. You can pull it off if you don’t get it centered right. It’s a pretty thick piece of vinyl.

Removed the HONDA emblem off my 24 BE also, but tried dental floss, kept breaking so I tried monofilament fishing line....worked fantastic! Easy way to remove emblems that are glued!
