Hello Everyone,

I bought anew black RTL about a month ago. I see i need some rock bug protection up front but really dont want a big plastic bug deflector, I want to keep ot looking clean. So..... I wnet out and bought a clear bra for the hood and sidemirrors. Its a clear plastic film thatyou apply like window tint and supposedly works very well. Does anyone her know of it/use it have some pointers? I plan to install it this weekend. Teh only thing im worried about is it working too well ie preserving my color while the rest of the vehicle color fades and breathability.

Thanks all. This forum really helped me while deciding on what truck to buy.

Do you like it? Protects well?
It protects very well against stone chips and bumper rubs

Mr. Bigs,

Where did you get the clear bra installed? I'm in NJ looking for a recommended shop. Cost?
It'll set you back about $300 for front and rear bumpers plus mirrors. If you willing to come into Brooklyn I can get you an appt.

I had the clear bra on graphite pearl (dark grey metallic) Accord for 3 year. After a year, it was not as clear. It got a little hazy. I think it did a decent job protecting against stone chips, etc... but it did get scratched and after a little bumper scratch, I had to remove it to fix bumper. I would not purchase again. Just my opinion. I think on silver vehicle it would be less noticeable.

Since I wasn't sure about dropping the $300 + I ordered an "el cheapo" off of eBay. Cut wasn't perfect and the vents weren't cut out, but with a heat gun, a ton of patience and a blade I attempted the install myself. After our 3,000 mile trip to S. Dakota, I am delighted that the bugs just rubbed right off and after nearly a year it still looks better than if I didn't protect the front. All for about $25.00!!
