I have a 2006 RTL which I purchased used almost a year ago (and I've been loving it!) I've loved using the blue connect hands-free calls but I've recently run into a problem.

I just bought a new phone and I'm trying to sync it up but there aren't any available slots to sync with. I guess the unit has like 5 or 6 phones that can be sync'd/stored with the unit at any given time and my last phone happens to be the last one.

To sync my new phone I need to wipe out one of the other sync'd phones which is okay with me - I want them all gone - but when I use the menus to delete a phone the unit is unable to since the phone isn't 'connected'. It seems like the phone needs to be currently connected to the unit so it knows which one to delete and I don't have any of the phones to try that.

I'm wondering if there is another way to wipe out the phones sync'd with the unit such as doing some kind of hard reset on the device? Has anyone run into a problem like this before? I called Blue Connect and they said to take it to a Honda Dealer...

Thanks

Hope it works out for you.

I'm not familiar with Blue Connect. However, if you're talking about the intergrated Bluetooth HandsFreeLink (HFL), then try this:

  1. Press the HFL Talk button;
  2. Say "Phone Setup";
  3. Say "Delete" after the prompt;
  4. The HFL will ask you which phone you want to delete. Follow the HFL prompts to continue with the deletion.
If that doesn't work, then try this sequence:
  1. Press the HFL Talk button;
  2. Say "Phone Setup";
  3. Say "List" after the prompt, then listen for the names of the paired phones it recognizes.
  4. Press the HFL Back button;
  5. Say "Delete" after the prompt;
  6. Say the name of the paired phone you want deleted. Follow the HFL prompts to continue with the deletion.

Sorry for not checking back in sooner... things have been crazy lately! :act018: I'll take your instructions and see if it works. Thanks for the feedback!

I would assume this is the HFL but that's just a guess as I purchased the truck used. The device when activated says "BlueConnect-Ready"

With that being said, I'm still unable to get the device to work again. After I say the Delete or List command (from the previous suggestions) the device tells me there are no paired devices.

I wrote down the options and made note of what the system returned.

Available Options:
  • Call
  • Dial
  • Phonebook
  • Redial
  • Emergency
  • Setup
    • Phone Pairing
      • Pair a phone
        System has me speak 4 digit PIN and start procedure on phone. I complete procedure on phone and enter PIN. BlueConnect returns: Max Devices Paired and terminates. Phone shows as paired. When I press the handset icon on BlueConnect it says phone pairing has failed and terminates. Next time I press the icon and try to list phones it indicates there are no paired devices.
      • Delete a phone
        • Returns:No Paired Devices
      • List paired phones
        • Returns:No Paired Devices
    • Confirmation Prompts
    • Select Phone
      • Returns: No Paired Devices
    • Cancel
  • Cancel

Any other suggestions? Thanks, once again, for the feedback!
