I see Jeep Commander:ROFLMAO:
Fairly minimalistic like the Model Y inside. I also am in favor of the styling. No word on the power plant yet. Auto manufacturers have to change up the design once in awhile to keep consumers interested and buying. Tesla is almost to that point.

I can see this being a huge hit with those that might like the Lexus GX or Land Rover Defender, yet find those cars far out of budget. As a practical alternative they might really hit on something with this.

No real news on 2024 Ridgeline yet.
I'm still leaning heavily Pilot Elite.
Decision time September or October.
If Pilot color Modern Steel with Brown interior.
2nd Choice White with Brown interior. Each easy colors I can maintain in age.
A Kia Telluride dark gray brown interior parked in front of my door last week. Women with baby visiting neighbors. I can live with Brown interior. Then yesterday Uber/Lyft ride picked me up for doctors appointment. It was an Alfa Romeo with Brown interior.
My first car new 1980 Honda Prelude was Tudor Red it had red cloth interior with red brownish leatherette trim on doors and seat backs headrest seat trim.
I have already built the trim on Honda website. Have to re-look and see if I added towing hitch package. I decided don't really need.
It's not high priority accessory for me.
Cargo Cover, Cargo Mat are. Setback protectors just $ 80 from College Hills Honda.
Window Vent Visors I would want.
It comes with Roof Rails so could order cross bars from College Hills. The Roof Top Box can get later same. Other than door edge film or film on handles. Think I will skip running boards. Not sure about that. This is lower than G1 Ridgeline that I had OEM side steps put on.
It comes with trunk well dividers in Elite trim.
They have that PPO package stuff now.
There might be something like Tow Hitch or Cargo Mat Cargo Cover installed at factory not dealership. It's cheaper than dealership installation.
But still waiting on 2024 news.
As said vehicle would have to be complete redesign. It would also have to have exact convenience features as Pilot Elite.

I've noticed Grand Highlanders on the lot now. The grill looks better in person, just slightly oversized. A big rig for sure and will go right on the list for anyone shopping in that class. Toyota has something for everyone with that model for the pavement crowd. It is a little plain, nicer wheels on lower trims would be nice.

The Grand Highlander is certainly cannibalizing sales from the Highlander.

How do you know just from these numbers?

The Highlander sales were already trending down regardless, with 8078 fewer units YTD, and only 5536 Grand Highlanders sold.
Why don't you think 4-Runner sales are being cannibalized? They are down a whopping 21,856 units YTD.

I won't belabor the point, but the GH has only been available for 1/7th the amount of time as the Highlander this year.

The new Land Cruiser with a price in the $50K range will be another hot seller for Toyota. I am contemplating selling our FJ and Ridgeline for a Land Cruiser.

Love that the rear glass opens. The cheaper version with the round headlights should be 55k to start. Locking rear diff, central diff, standard. Has that new 2.4 turbo hybrid drivetrain that puts out some decent power numbers and it tows 6k. It probably won't be a better on the road vehicle than the I-VTM4 stuff but you are getting some serious torque there to potentially get one anyway and pay the extra 5k or so. I'd love to try this and the CX-90 setups to see if there's something better than the 2.5 hybrid or plug in that I've been driving lately. I'd we wary of moving away from an E-CVT, don't want to lose the responsiveness.

Toyota isn't disclosing full details, but the starting price will be in "the mid-$50,000 range."
By the time you add destination and installed options, the "cheap" version will be touching $60K.

The pricing of this new batch of "off-road" oriented vehicles is completely insane and personally seems unsustainable.
This will be a financially reckless purchase for a large proportion of buyers, who are guaranteed to take out 8 year loans and be significantly underwater.

You forgot the markup. Folks want capability, no Trailsport badge necessary for this LC, real deal. I suspect the next 4 Runner will be the compromise vehicle but hopefully Toyota will offer the 2.4/hybrid version since it will be available on the Taco, but no way around paying in the 50's for it.

The current 4Runner TRD Pro costs $56,000 without options.
Insane to think this is a "compromise" vehicle.
Also insane that only a tiny fraction of people who "want capability" are actually utilizing the capabilities of these $60K SUVs.
Hey, you have AWD and go to trails that you claim you can get to with 2WD.

Toyota has added some new vehicles to the hierarchy so they've got to parachute in somewhere. When they're not replacements and in the middle of the lineups there will be overlaps.

The Grand Higlander has overlap with the regular Highlander.

The media is portraying the new Land Cruiser as cheaper. To me it is a glorified 4 Runner.
Assume that the range from the 4 Runner to the LC will be 45k to 70k. Therefore, it's not "insane" to think it's a compromise vehicle.

I HAD to buy an AWD Ridgeline, as that is the only version offered in 2021 RTL. In 2019, it was also the only way to get the 5000 lb towing capacity, and FWD versions were non-existent at the time.

My other vehicle is FWD, which I explicitly picked over the AWD version, because I wanted the lower cost, better fuel economy, better performance, lower weight, and less mechanical complexity. After 5 years and over 50k miles, I've driven through plenty of snow, rain and off-pavement driving, with no issues whatsoever.

Therefore, it's not "insane" to think it's a compromise vehicle.
I wasn't calling you insane, or even the fact that it has become a "compromise" vehicle.
I just meant that from a consumer and financial perspective, it is insane that a buyer is 'compromising' with a $60k vehicle.

Put a refundable deposit down with my local Toyota dealer for the base Land Cruiser. No dealer ADM with this dealership .

You're out of control Sparkland! Congrats The paint is still curing on your RL. I don't know enough yet about the LC When will they be available? Where are they built? Looking forward to hear your assessment of the 2.4t/hybrid. Curious about the height and the garage and managing that tailgate and most importantly if plywood will fit width wise, ha ha. Your son must be excited about this.
