If you have a 2020-2023 Ridgeline, you'll probably want to leave or turn this feature off since it doesn't work properly and probably never will.

If you have a 2017-2019 Ridgeline or still want to enable the feature:

  • With the vehicle on and the headlight switch in the AUTO position and while stopped,
  • Pull the turn signal lever and hold for 30 seconds until the green headlight symbol with the A in the middle blinks once - the feature is now enabled.
  • To turn the feature off, continue to hold the turn signal lever for an additional 10 seconds until the symbol blinks twice - the feature is now disabled.

Once the feature is "enabled", it has to be "turned on" which can only be done when the vehicle is on and while the headlight switch in in the AUTO position and it is dark enough outside. Once these conditions are met, you can toggle the feature on and off by momentarily pulling the turn signal lever. When the feature is "enabled" and "turned on" and ready to operate the high beams automatically, the green headlight symbol with the A in the middle will illuminate steady.

Admittedly, Honda's procedure is ridiculously complex for the average driver. It's MUCH simpler in Mazdas where you enable/disable the feature by checking a box on the touch screen. While the feature is enabled, pushing the turn signal lever forward allows the high beams to work automatically and pulling it turns the high beams off. Easy peasy!
I have a 2019 RTL-E and mine works fine never have had a problem with it
