I have a 2020 RTL and pull a 2000lb teardrop camper. The smart alternator doesn't really charge my camper battery through the 7 pin connection like most of the older model trucks did before smart alternators came along. I bring a DC powered portable frig/freezer (ICECO GO 20) along and have it it set up in the truck bed under the factory OEM cover. Have it hooked to a Bluetti EB3A portable power station that usually keeps the frig running til we get to our camp site. Usually it will power our frig fine till we get to our campsite where I hook it up to shore power via an extension cord to a covered AC outlet plug I installed in the tonneau cover with AC dongles inside the bed connected to the power station to charge it back up. But on an extended drive recently we ran out of power station capacity coming home. Looking to install a Bluetti Charger 1 DC to DC charger that will allow me to keep the power station charged while powering our frig heading down the road. It has capacity for adjustable voltage output. Comes with 6 AWG cable with breaker and installation doesn't look too tough. Has anyone installed one of these chargers in their Ridgeline? Has it worked well?
