Just picked up my RTS a couple weeks ago. I love it.

I recently left Ford, and traded in my Ranger for a Ridgeline. I got my first look at the Ridgline as a participant in an internal focus group with Ford. This is a great truck. The back seat is very comparable to what can be found in a full size truck, offers all the utility that I could ever hope for, and for a price that screams value ($25k less options and taxes). I compared to the Sport Trac...a sad example of pushing a product on the consumer instead of pulling.

I've driven Chevrolet and Ford my whole life. There are a couple features that I miss, and I think they could benefit Honda...

- Automatic headlights
- Door locks that unlock when the handle is pulled (c'mon, do I really need to say "from the inside"?). I can't tell you how many people yank on the handle before I have a chance to unlock the doors. This is truly the only thing that annoys me.

I love the full size back seat that fold up!
Strangely, I love the standard all weather mats!
I love the bed width and dual action tail gate!
I liked the simple list of options.
I love all the storage options.
I enjoy the curious looks from Avalanche owners
I like gas mileage that seems to be comparable to my previous truck
I enjoy having the back seat middle anchor for a child seat - little girl on the way. I've never had a baby, so I'm not sure if this is a big deal or not...the anchor position, not the baby.

I've had one tank of gas through the truck, but have moved drywall, hauled mountain bikes, and gave my toddler nephews a ride to Target to pick up groceries that I locked in the trunk. Now that spring is here, I play with the power sliding rear window and jam to XM radio.

Honda did a great job!

Did I miss something? but where do you hand dry cleaning in the back? No hooks here...

Dear Honda,
After owning several domestic trucks, a couple of Toyota's and other family members cars (wife = Acura MDX...daughter=Mazda 3), here's my wish list for Ridgeline in the future:
1. Remote Start - can't for the life of me wonder why Honda/Acura doesn't have an OEM remote start accessory...Toyota, Mazda, and many domestics (Dodge, GM, etc) have it. Yes I can go for an aftermarket, but why do I have to have someone possibly butcher my electrical system to install?
2. Auto-on headlights...your sister company (Acura) has them...don't think it's too much to add to a $30K MSRP vehicle. At least on the RTS and RTL's.
Yes, it's a minor convenience, but it is convenient!
3. MP3 jack on ALL trim levels, not just the RTL. This is on most $50 CD players at Walmart.
4. Make the "scratch-resistant" bed really that..or change to a different material. One metal piece in my bed to haul and I got a scratch.
5. Auto-dimming mirror, at least on RTS and RTL. Again, minor convenience but when you've had 2 prior vehicles with it, you notice it's not there.
6. More diverse color/upholstery choices. Absolutely love the dark cherry exterior, but have never liked beige interiors. Think the dark cherry would look great with grey interior. I got the steel blue, my second choice of color, based on the grey interior.

That's about it. I LOVE my Ridgeline. The above would make it oh so much sweeter!

All the above plus a compass and temp guage std. in all vehicles.;)

Just picked up my new Ridgeline, and I beleive I'm going to love it. However, there are some things I would like to see added. Automatic headlights, memory seats, and a larger gas tank (25 gallons would be nice, 28 would be great). The hourse power is okay, but 10% more would be great.
Well, I think we always want a little more power no matter how much we get to start with. Speaking of which - is there any good chip mods, or otherwise to give more power for those that want it? You see the cheap Ebay versions, but do they work?

I agree with all the previous posts. Even with Navi I don't use it all the time and the compass mirror would be nice. As far as the door lock thing goes I just programmed mine to lock when I come out of Park and unlock when it goes back into park, I never yank on the door when it's locked anymore.

What cheesed me off for a while was how when you parked it only unlocked the drivers door. More than once I liked to pulled the rear drivers door off when I forgot it was still locked.

My RTL has nice hanging hooks in the back...doesn't everybody's?

I also just leave the headlights on. They then function as auto headlights. When you open and shut the drivers door they shut off after 10 secs.

Bluetooth would be the shazbot on these. Worked into the voice recognition on the Navi, how sweet would that be? Anyone that rides with me when I tell it "climate control full automatic" and away it goes...freaks 'em right out. This 'Sync' thing Ford has will be the norm I think in just a few years.

I have been spoiled by Cadillacs, I especially would love a nightvision system with heads-up-display (HUD). The one in my DTS is just freaky cool. Those kinds of tech gee wiz things are niche items, but how cool is that?

I love my Ridge, and think it is tremendous value for money with all the fittings which would be "accessories" in other makes. However in the spirit of helping to improve a brilliant product, please provide a rearview mirror which actually allows you to see the entire back window - the present model only allows viewing of about 80% so I cannot set it to see both rear quarters. I also agree that auto-on running lights would be a significant step forward and that mudflaps all round would have been sensible - I wish I had put them on from new.

If anyone knows where I can get a slightly larger/wider angle view rearview mirror, I'd be grateful.;) Oh yes, and I'm also looking for a full size spare - anyone know any good deals/sources?

Enjoy the cruisin'

Search eBay for "broadway mirror". Started with the asian import cars (and not necessarily the rice rockets) but now they're everywhere. Prolly at Pep Boys and Target and Walmart now too, altho I haven't checked lately. The "Broadway" brand is the most famous brand tho.

Dear Honda,

You know those cool ScanGauge displays - it would be really really nice if the Ridgeline came with those same displays displayed on the Nav system, that would be great! :D

That would be cool! Maybe a few aux buttons like
|TV|DVD|VCR|GPS|Aux|

Oh, wait... that would be useful and make sense. Dang. ;) :p

(Got my ScanGaugeII Yesterday - maybe this weekend I'll get it installed!) :D

In no particular order:

1. tow package on all models standard with 1 7/8 and 2 " ball included
2. rear mud flaps on all models.
3. under rear seat storage std on all models
4. auxillary power point in bed or trunk or both
5. remote start
6. seat memory
7. fog lights all models standard
8. day time running lights standard
9. spare tire under truck so incase of flat do not need to unload to get to spare.
10. more torque and power with better mpg. hey we are talking honda.

Maybe I missed it but i cannot believe that there is no way to auto-open the sun roof. I have to HOLD IT until it opens? That probably surprised me the most when i pick up my truck this week. I've owned a bunch of vehicles and i cannot remember the last time I had to wait for that.

An AC power outlet in place of one of the 3 cigarette lighter power outlets -- I have a DC --> AC transformer.

Under truck spare instead of in trunk (hard to get to) -- throw the donut in the back seat after you replace it with a full size spare.

Aux audio input -- avail with the NAV unti but too pricey for me so I got an FM transmitter.

Perhaps an upgradable option for lockable tailgate if you buy the cover.
