Yellow improves contrast over white clear lenses.

If you want to test this, buy a pair of $2 yellow safety glasses at Harbor Freight, or try on a pair of yellow sunglasses at the mall. You'll notice the improvement in visibility.

 

I took a different approach to the yellow . Switchback bulbs . Cycle clear or amber .

 

Looks great, but I just changed my bulbs to yellow, and they are a little brighter. In actual fog you notice the yellow a lot more than white lights. It doesn't seem to glare as bad either.

 

Sounds good Steve Jordan, where can I buy the proper fog light bulbs? Are they amber colored or yellow colored like the turn signals? Thx!

 

Same here I replaced my LED bulbs with yellow/Amber and slightly brighter ones. There are some posts about better bulbs on this forum.
Also had to adjust them up a lot , factory setting was incorrect and pointing almost straight at the ground , wife’s 2020 Pilot was the same. Dealerships don’t even check forward lighting adjustment and told me they will only adjust them now if Honda has a TSB for it. Terrible lazy customer service now a days .

 

I replaced my original fog light bulbs with brighter ones (saw them on a post here and they are great) and also adjusted them up as they were pointing at the ground. Now they fill in nicely with my low beams making shadows under my low beams non-existent and not blinding other drivers. I know they don't blind others because I got my wife to drive the RL and I would drive my lower seating Subie Impreza toward her at night experiencing what other oncoming traffic experienced. We did this on a couple of different roads just to make sure. This is always a good idea when adjusting any lights as we can think they are OK for other drivers when they are in fact not.

 

Those of us of the age to remember when you would bolt the big chrome lamps to the big chrome bumper, yellow were sold as fog and white were driving lights.

 

Yes SK17touring, I remember installing a set of Per-Lux brand round louvered 18 wheeler lights on my Chrome JC Whitney bumper guards extensions on my 1973 C-10 Chevy Van. They had louvers in behind the lens to guide the white light down & onto the road.
