Glove Box Damper Installation:
For starters, here are the tools and parts you will need
Trim removal tools (flat head screwdriver with towel or tape will work)
Phillips head screwdriver
10mm socket with 6" minimum extension (trust me it helps)
Flashlight (depends on your lighting)
Parts:
2016+ Pilot glove box damper Part# 77502-TG7-A11
2 Pan head screws 1/2" long
Procedure:
1. Remove the end trim on the passenger side door by using a pry tool to pull straight away to remove 3 clips, see pic 1.
2. Open the glove box to that it is hitting the catches, as you would normally open it. See pic 2, starting on the door side (right) pull on the trim to pop out the clips, about 7. As you get to the center console, you may need to grab behind the trim where the arrows point right next to the USB plug. That section comes hard but it will come with some effort.
3. Pinch the glove box ends to drop it all the way out of the cavity, like you were changing the cabin air filter. There are 4 phillips head screws to remove, as well as 2 10mm bolts, see pic 3.
4. The entire trim section, from the foot well, the glove box, and the trim that the 4 screws are holding are all 1 piece of connected trim. As you remove the last of the bolts/screws, keep the hanging glovebox supported to prevent strain on the plastic hinges.
5. Now, on the floor, pull the black footwell trim out and up to unhook it from the carpet. The glovebox can now be pushed back in and latched to make it more manageable to pull out.
6. There is a light bulb wire and wiring for the trunk lock switch that need to be disconnected. See pic 4. The bulb just rotates 90 degrees, the switch has a push clip that pops out easily.
7. Remove the entire trim bundle and set it face down in a suitable location. I used the front seat. See pic 5.
8. Pics 5 and 6 show the location for the damper to go. You will need two screws to attach it, make sure its not too long.
9. In pic 6, the arrow shows the hole you need to put the damper string through before you re-attach the trim.
10. Perform all of the trim step in reverse to put it all back together. I recommend getting a couple screws or the bolts in and then open the glove box and get the string looped around the hook on the glovebox. It's pretty obvious where it hooks.
11. Once you confirm that it works, finish putting it all back together.
12. Don't forget to reconnect the trunk lock switch and light bulb.
Thanks to everyone who was interested and helped drive me to figure this out. In the end, depending on shipping, the 'mod' will cost less than $50 and take about 1-2 hours depending on how retentive you are about trim removal.
