Hey all,
Well, after owning my Gen 1 2007 R/L RTS for 3 years and driving it around 30k miles, I ending up blowing a cylinder head gasket! The truck now has around 220k miles and is otherwise in very good nick so after lots of thinking, I decided to pull the trigger and purchase a JDM engine. I'll take care of all that I can before the swap to ensure it will run okay such as install new timing belt and and water pump, adjust valves, reseal those lower block bolts, clean out the cats, replace crank and trans shaft seals... did I miss anything?
While the engine is out, I am wondering what the Dickens I can do to bump up power? I do live in Flawrida so there is no emissions testing or inspections. I do have a blower from a GM Gen II 3800 sitting around...
I know these engines are not too conducive to adding power so I am good with the 240 or so HP.
Thanks!
