Lift kit installed - front end vibrates on take off

Just had my Truxx lift kit installed on Thursday and when they got done they said the front end was vibrating/shaking a bit on takeoff about 5-15, and then it went away. This was the first ridgeline they had done so they'd thought it might just need a break in period. I called Truxx about it and they said it shouldn't do it period but give it a couple days then take it back and the installers could call them about it and see if they could work it out. Great company imo. Just wondered if anyone knew what the issue might be offhand?

Found this thread which seems somewhat related in that shuddering seems the best word to describe the feeling but mine is only doing it at a low speed.

I don't know terribly much about the inner workings of vehicles but gonna try to peek around what I can see morrow with my dad, who actually does ha. Hoping for a simple fix =-/

It's been said before, but lifting a Ridgeline stresses the drive train more than it would a conventional truck. That means it will expose any weak spots - sounds like you just did. Hope it does not get expensive for you. Honda is not going to cover repairs now that you have modified it.

Lifting a truck puts more stress on the powertrain by binding CV and universal joints. I seem to remember reading about a vibration issue caused by lifting an RL years ago that was cured by loosening and and retorquing the engine mounts. You can also remove the driveshaft and drive your vehicle to eliminate some the driveshaft joints as a possible cause.

Well I've had the lift on for quite a while now and although I don't really notice it the shudder anymore, it's still there. Haven't had any issues at all, and had it in to dealer for one of the big overall inspections and all good. If you figure anything out tho would def love to know. Hate you're having the same issue but also glad it's not just me =-/.

One thing to note with my install is that the passenger side cv joint popped out at the tranny side. The boot did not tear and is not leaking, and I was able to pop the joint right back into place immediately. I'm really hoping that Honda's axles aren't that sensitive to something like that, especially seeing how much the OEMs cost.

I have owned close to 30 vehicles and have done suspensions on the majority of them plus many other vehicles for friends and family, and have never once had an issue with a cv axle going bad simply because it popped out, even if a boot was torn as long as it was able to go back into place without excessive force. I'll keep you posted on what I find. Hoping it's something simple.

My lift has only been on for 3,000 miles, just to clarify.

I put mine on because my boat trailer was a pain to put on. The older ones sat lower anyway. No way I'd put a lift on a newer one. Way too much drama for such a little difference.
