I guess thats a good reason to replace them early.

Do the valves break in normal service? Or do they break when attempting to remove them?

2021 with 68k miles . . .I bet his PCV valve comes out of the manifold just fine and in fully working condition.

In the video he shook the PCV valve after removing it and it rattled. He said it probably did not need to be replaced, but he had it out with a new one on hand so he replaced it. He did not have any confidence that his perception of a slight increase in oil consumption was cured by the PCV valve change which came out with ease.

Personally, I have changed well over 100 PCV valves in my lifetime beginning in the mid 60's and cannot remember one that did not rattle. I am willing to say with certainty all of the PCV valves I have changed were working just fine because I always changed oil every few thousand miles until just recently when I extended that interval to 4000 miles.

I was talking about the OP not the fellow in the video (who has a 19 Pilot).
