I can’t speak for the G2, but my G1 2008 RTL is now at 476,000 miles and still going strong. Need I say more about longevity? Bought it new. Only routine maintenance along the way. Timing belts are the biggest expense, but things like brake pads and struts have been replaced by myself. The alternator was replaced once and the power steering pump was replaced at about 200,000. No internal engine issues whatsoever. Love my Ridgeline! View attachment 441959
Wow!!! Very impressive, take care of a Honda and she will take care of you!

My 06 is mechanically top notch at 210k. Only routine stuff except for radiator (rock), and rear struts because I overloaded it a few times @ 180k miles. One started leaking.
The only thing that will kill it is the northeast rust, which is kept at bay with annual woolwax.

Just curious what people on here think of the longevity of the Ridgeline. I have a 2020 BE with 28k miles on it. Just curious of peoples opinions on how long i can depend on it being reliable without having to pump a bunch of money into it. 3yr 36k warrantee ends in Dec so i thought about trading out into something new but this one is paid off and I am not thrilled with the idea of getting into a new loan at todays rates even if it would only be a smallish one.
Between what you lose in value trading and what you pay in interest expense you are almost assured of it costing more than the price of an extended Honda Care warranty from either Saccucci or Hyannis. Then it ends 5 years from December or 100/120k depending on which option. I drive about 300mi/mo so I expect this truck will outlive me. Good luck.

Yeah, looking back i wish i had gotten one of those. Too late now though so hopefully nothing big crops up.

If you are below 36/36 it is not too late. It will cost a bit more when over 6k miles but check both those websites and you can get the price. My 2024 with <1k-mi is $1171 for 8/100. I'll barely use up the 36k miles in 8 years though so not too much point for me. Saccucci and Hyannis Hondas. A few minutes and a few clicks. Can't hurt to check.

Unfortunately I am at 38,000 miles and the truck is 4+ years old.

Also, just out of curiosity when i almost bought the CRV I was offered 25k for trade in on the 2020 BE with the crack in the windshield. They were honest though and told me that they would give me 26k if i get the windshield repaired first. does that seem low, high or about right to most people? Thanks.

It seems weird that would give you $1K for something that would cost them less to fix in-house. Saferide quoted me $500 on your vehicle when I entered the info into the website a few minutes ago.

Insist on the 26K WITHOUT fixing the windshield. They are jerking your chain.

Was that with OEM glass and getting the safety tech recalibrated? If so then I (or actually my insurance) is overpaying for the new windshield as I am paying a lot more than $500 for the new windshield, install and recalibration.

With recalibration, I don’t know if it is OEM or not. The dealer can get OEM at cost and they can recalibrate in-house. The cost to them is much less than the cost for you to do it on your own without dealer discounts on parts and your own stable of mechanics/technicians.

They don’t need you to fix it, they simply want you to accept their offer.

I don't see how that could be right. Generic was over a grand for me last year. OEM glass was another 5 yards. I only paid the $500 deductible, but the cost of the windshield with complete installation was more than double that

Although I'm sure the dealer will get a nice discount on the job, a $1,000 deduct seems perfectly fair to me for someone who doesn't have glass coverage.

1k is actually half of what I was quoted at several places around here to get the windshield done. it is actually $500 more to get OEM glass vs the non OEM. I am using insurance as I have comprehensive glass coverage but had to pay the difference between OEM and non OEM. Originally I got the quotes as if I was not using insurance and most were around 2k for OEM with recalibration. What i really wonder though is was 26k low as KBB had trade in value around 28K for the truck at average condition. The truck is actually in better than average condition actually.

Either way at least now I will have the truck whole again so if i do decide to trade in it will not be for the worry of a growing crack in the windshield. I really would like to upgrade to a 25 Ridgeline but at least at my most local dealer they deals are not that great (only $1500 off MSRP). If I want to go about 20 miles from here I can get $2500 off though. The thing is though i really like having no car payments.

Yeah, no payment is the schnizzle. I'd drive 20 miles (40 round trip) for $1000.

Yep, love having no payment. It is not the extra 20 miles on the purchase that i dont like it’s having to go that far for the service that i don't like. Although, they have 3k off a really nice trailsport so who knows. Gotta get windshield done first then can decide if i wanna upgrade or keep having no payments. Tough decision.

You don't have to go back there for service just because it's bought there of course. And whatever your original payment was, keep making that payment into a better interest savings account like Marcus or similar every month same as if it was due to Honda (or whoever). In 2-3 years you'll have enough combined with its value to pay cash in full for a replacement.

This! You have a perfectly good truck that is hardly broken in. Why make payments and give away interest to some creditor that you could give to yourself.

I am sort of leaning this way actually. Sometimes i get swayed by the fear if no longer having a warrantee but then i would hope that if there were going to be issues i would know by now. Also 38k is still pretty low mileage so there is that going toward keeping it. Short of that it is only for some features on the newer one which is really not a good reason to either lay out 17K along with trade or have a $300+ payment for the next 5 years.

The most economical vehicle to own is the one you already have. Plus, you know all the quirks of the one you have... any new to you vehicle can have new demons. I wouldn't fear not having a warranty.
