118k miles on my 2007 RTL...been a great truck....rear brakes at 75k and fronts at 98k....had the factory do the tensioners/timing belt at 90k.....about two weeks ago I started noticing a clunk when going over bumps (or more specifically hitting potholes) coming from the front end....it has gotten noticeably worse in those 2 weeks......it seems that the clunk seems most noticeable when the suspension is cycling downward (like when you hit a speedbump the clunk is not so much felt/heard when you initially hit the front of the bump but more so when the tire/suspension goes back down to the road surface - if that makes any sense)
I have been under the truck a few times and nothing looks visibly broken or damaged.
If I grab the front sway bar link and shake the sh7t out of it I can hear a very small clicking noise....if I grab the sway bar itself I cannot get any motion noise out of it but as you know it is a pretty beefy bar.....at 118k should I just replace the links and see if that solves it and work from there?
Does anyone have a definitive method for identifying which part of the front suspension is the culprit?
