Hi there,
I originally had the standard Scosche radio dash kit for my Sony single-din ISO mount radio. I found the Scosche did not do an adequate job of firmly mounting my ISO and the front faceplate that Scosche provides to create a neat border around your radio was constantly popping out as the clips were small and unable to keep the faceplate in place. This caused rattles and all sorts of problems.

Yesterday I switched to the Ai dash kit that I found on Crutchfield using their compatibility tool to make sure I got the correct kit for my Ridge. I am very happy with my new Ai kit. The side brackets used for stabilizing the radio are very solid and easy to install. The dash kit itself took maybe 15 minutes to install.

My only complaint is currently the factory piece that has the hazard light button and the flip-down compartment that is located below the stereo does not mount flush with the Ai dash kit. This causes a 1/4 gap between the compartment and the Ai dash kit, that is not a big problem though. The big problem is that my actual Ridge dash is not clipping in to the flip down compartment piece as it may be sitting a 1/2 inch back. This is creating a 1/2 gap between the flip-down compartment and my actual Ridge dash. I am going to head back out today and try and fix this problem and will post back with my success or failure.

Even with this problem, whether I can fix it or not, I recommend the Ai over the Scosche.

I hope this post helps others decide between the Scosche and Ai dash kits as after doing lots of research before my switch helped me.

So after going out and wrestling around for 30 minutes trying to fix the gaps, I believe they are there to stay. I should correct the size of the gaps however. The gap between the hazard lights/flip out compartment and the dash kit is maybe 1/8"-1/4" and the gaps of the Ridge dash around the entire dash kit only happens on the bottom part of the dash kit and the Ridge dash (where the A/C screen is) and that gap is maybe 1/4" at its largest area.

All in all, I am still twice as happy with the Ai as I was with the Scosche.
