I've kept some Baja Designs lights and bars over the years and formerly living in the heart of Atlanta (now in Tennessee), I'm tempted to mount a quick "get off my ass" solution.

I know any of you in big busy cities can attest to these kind getting on your nerves, but brake checking and road raging is seriously not worth it these days.

Perhaps a quick flash of a light to let em know?

Emitting white light from the rear of the vehicle can get you a ticket and possibly sued for gross negligence if you blind someone and cause a crash.

Here's a safer alternative:

Usually I just slow down a little. They get annoyed and will pass eventually. Or I just kick it and leave them behind when driving my BMW's. I lived in Atlanta for over 20 years. Left about 5 years ago. Don't miss it.

I just run my windshield washers...
I used to do that, too, and it was often quite effective.

My Tesla has "wet arm" windshield washers that spray only when the wipers are in the down position. This method is effective and more efficient, but doesn't produce nearly as much "waste fluid", which is what you want when you're trying to spray the vehicle behind you. :)

The BEST thing you, or Anyone, can do is to simply pull aside and Let them pass.

Don't slow down. Don't flip them off. And for God sakes don't "brake-check".

They're probably just in a hurry or simply drive faster than you.

Don't worry about figuring out why. Don't take it upon yourself to try to Enforce the speed limit.

Just let them pass. For all you know it could be a goon fleeing a murder. A flash of these blinders, or a brake-check could spur him into claiming you as his 2nd victim.

Uh - in most cases they just think they're more important than you....like this twit woman in a Jeep that passed on a yellow line then bolted through a left turn light in the wrong lane. Reporting it doesn't do anything either... Watch the little number she pulls at about 1:35 minutes in:

Nice :sneaky: I see that crap on the daily...

I agree that most times they probably are just fools 'thinking' only about themselves.
But I also know that I'm not the only one with a CCW.
And the last thing I want is to have need of using mine.

I try and consider why people are in a hurry sometimes. Surely, if the driver of that Jeep drove that way all the time, they would have had their license revoked by now.

For the first time in my life, I had a "digestive issue" recently and took a remedy after the diagnosis yesterday evening. Instead of heading to a local park for my daily exercise after work yesterday evening, I figured I better head directly home instead. Seconds after I merged onto the normally-clear freeway, traffic began to slow before coming to a complete stop. The next exit was over a mile ahead. What would have been a 20-minute drive home ended up being 45 minutes.

I considered a few options including pulling off onto the shoulder and heading into the woods, but I didn't dare block that lane because it was being used by emergency vehicles. I considered driving on the shoulder to the next exit, but I didn't want to be "that guy" - even though getting home took priority over being considered an a-hole. Plus, vigilantes around here will block you with their brodozers if they don't like what you are doing - and they particularly don't like EVs. :)

I've noticed quite a few people over recent years seem to have developed a habit of "codependent" driving. They seem to need to be following the car ahead of them like a trail ride horse. If the car in front of them manages to get loose they just attach to the next car. I also see women putting on makeup this way and I'm amazed I don't see more wrecks because of it.

That (bolded) alludes to the first, and by far most important, rule of CCW.

Possibly the result of poorly-functioning Adaptive Cruise Control.

You may have to start carrying doggie pee pads with you, and hope that your Tesla's HEPA filtration is up to the task when you hit "recirculate"!

Cellphonies. See them all the time.
Immediately move into the fast lane as soon as they enter the freeway. Turn the ACC on, set to 5-10 mph slower than the traffic flow and start surfin the book o faces.
Near as I can figure they think because they're going slow in the passing lane, they don't have to worry about anyone in front of them. Or to the left of them. Or behind them for that matter.
But you have to watch them all the same because they'll also swerve across of traffic in less than 100 yrds to hit that exit siri just told them to take.

Exactly. I swear these days the right lane is faster than the left lane, previously referred to as "the fast lane," but hanging out in the right lane is playing with fire.

When I posted that video on the Nextdoor app - several nearby members had seen that same Jeep with the same driver pull similar stunts.

But yeah, I understand driving fast in an emergency, but doesn't seem to be the case here... At this point on life, I pull over and let them go..
