Has anyone bought TRQ’s rear struts and replaced it on their ridgeline? I bought the left and right rear struts from TRQ. But the “RR” doesn’t align properly with the upper mount holes. They say you can spin the struts to align them properly but I can’t seem to do so. Should I figure out how to mount the top and try to rotate the bottom with a long screw driver or something so it can align? I don’t want to break anything and I’m a newbie mechanic so any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Yes, you just spin them to match up. Sometimes it requires a spring compressor but they will spin

Ok yeah I got them to spin. Just used a bar that goes in the lower hole and turned them a bit. Thanks!

Been a long time since I replaced struts on anything and never on a Honda but maybe this will help:

Thanks I’m using this video to replace them. So far I got one side done but the rear left has been a S**t show. Sway bar link rusted. Had to cut it off and I don’t have access or an angle to the top hole. I’m not quite sure how people install new ones.

for the top 3 bolts, I broke of the nuts that are welded in. I heard you can take off the wheel well liner and access the top. Will try that and see how it goes.

Figured it out it was quite easy. Just used a long screw driver, put it in the lower hole where the 24mm bolt goes and turned it slowly.

I jusssss put some on this past weekend…you can rotate the top counter clockwise until the holes line up!
