VTM-4 issue

I'm just seeing this thread for the first time, but I was going to comment that it could either be a failure in the VTM-4 system OR a different failure that has disabled the VTM-4 system causing the light to illuminate. In your case, it was obviously the latter. Glad you got it fixed!

@zroger73 , can you make sense on why the O2 sensors caused the VTM-4 trouble light? Do you believe that there is even any remote connection between them? Its not like the engine was placed in a limp mode correct?
Certainly. Sometimes, a DTC in one system will set a DTC in another system. In the case of the 1G, "When the VTM-4 control unit senses abnormalities in the input or output systems, the VTM-4 indicator in the gauge control module will usually come on..." The PCM is an input and output system for the VTM-4 control unit. The troubleshooting information says to scan the vehicle for DTCs and if there are any fuel and emissions DTCs present to troubleshot those first and any VTM-4 DTCs last since as a result.

On the 2G, as another example, a transmission fault will disable the Blind Spot Information System (The rear cross traffic alert feature of the BLIS needs to know when the transmission is in reverse and if there is a transmission fault the data may not be valid so the BLIS disables itself and displays a warning message).

What does this mean? Moved where?
It means the moderator moved the thread to a more appropriate forum. In this case, the thread was originally posted in the "Miscellaneous/General Honda Ridgeline Discussions" forum. It was moved to the "1G Problems & Issues".
