Are H11 LED kits brighter them the stock H11 halogen?

Check out this install of the H11 Xtreme LED Pro kit in our 2018 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro and see how well it really performs. The review shows beam pattern photos, and LUX measurements of the OEM H11 halogen bulb (baseline) vs our H11 LED headlight kit. Here are some pics from the review:

My wife's Acura with OEM jewel eye LED's are very bright instantly but their light throw distance seems almost half of my Xenon Depot Extreme Phillips HID's.

The picture is my HID's on an unlit road. ( I still have never been flashed or seen someone kick up their rearview mirror), the light output and cutoff is impressive in real life.

What type of installation is required?

It's very easy to install. They're essentially plug and play unless you opt for the relay to the battery then it's a few more steps. You remove your halogen bulbs, install the new bulbs carefully not to touch the glass, plug it all up then find good spots to zip tie all loose wires. Any average Joe with some mechanical ability and common sense can install these in under 30 mins going slow and carefully.

****... common sense damn it.

Seriously though thanks. By any chance do you have a photo of it completed? To the ballasts take up much room and do you have to splice power with out the relay?

XD links to my initial review, mounting location can be anywhere out of the way of your choosing, the ballasts are pretty small and can be double stick taped(included) to the inner fenders up high and the rest of the loose wiring easily zip ties down solid. I've been very happy without any issues. I never use my foglights or brights as they simply aren't needed anymore. I've yet to find another car on the road with better output. An important factor is that the HID lights don't blind other drivers or attract police attention. I also never adjusted my headlights from stock.

The kit plugs up like plugging an extension cord to a power outlet, it's really that simple. I didn't use the relay.

I am quite fickle but, the standard bulbs were of significant lesser quality in fit and finish precision IMO and the fitment just didn't match up perfect to my OEM harness plugs and headlight housing. I had problems with the standard bulbs just not fitting easy so I contacted XD and upgraded to Phillips so I recommend just buying the Phillips bulbs. Xenon Depot customer service was great and just charged me the bulb price difference and didn't need the standard bulbs returned.

The Phillips bulbs (4300k color-whitest/brightest usable light) also have a cool color shift effect: they turn on very blueish instantly then warm up to pure white within 30 seconds or so.
You can't honestly go wrong with either option but there is a few difference:

1- The Philips bulbs will color shift to 4700K after 100 hours of usage.
2- They are going to be about 100 lumens brighter than our 4300K bulbs.

As for the XenonDepot HID bulbs, we did update the design of our bulbs a few months ago to ensure better fitment and quality.

If you have a spare 10mm bolt you can secure the ballasts with a bolt to the frame near each side of the fender.

On the drivers side the hole is the one just to the right of the seam sealant below the ballast in picture #3. The passenger side already has an available bolt. I left the protective coating on the double sided tape and used the bolt to secure the ballast. That way I can remove them if necessary.

The HID's are great and I have no complaints except for the short warm up time at start up.

I must be missing something obvious on the install. I'm finding that the Philips HID bulb is not indexing into the headlight. When I look at the OEM bulb to the HID bulb, the HID bulb is smaller in diameter and does not engage with the headlight assembly. It spins freely w/o engaging. You see how much smaller the tab assembly is on the HID vs. the tab assembly on the OEM bulb ... ???

Any ideas?

Looks like you were comparing the H11 HID bulb to your 9005 halogen bulb for the high beams but glad to see you were able to determine this.

To XenonDepot - what about the 9005 Pro LED kit for the high beams on the RTL - will they work as DRL's as well?
The 9005 Xtreme LED Pro kit will work in DRL with a canbus installed but because they can't dim then the DRL will be on at full brightness.

It's clearly not the correct size bulb. Did you remove the low beam bulb or the high beam bulb( had to ask)

If you removed the low beam and it's not matching up:
Either you ordered the wrong bulb or they sent you the wrong bulb, either way contact the vendor and customer service will help you sort it out.

Congratulations on your new ride!!

If it's like the 2017, then you would need to get the H11 LED kit. Our lamp replacement guide does not reflect 2019 model years yet, so I can't with certainty confirm the bulb type.

Do you have the vehicle already? If so, you can easily determine what kind of bulb it uses as the bulb type is etched along the bottom of the headlight lens.

No, you don't need a Canbus for your low beams. With the Ridgeline, the Canbus is only needed when upgrading the high beams to LED or HID if it has daytime running lights. The Canbus will allow the upgraded lights to work in DRL mode without flickering.

Not sure if these pics look right but here it goes! 1st and 3rd pics are new kit 2nd and 4th are the regular lights. Pics from cell phone so not very good. The light is a whiter light with a wider beam. Match the "swoosh" much better.
