My battery died, had it jumped and as usual I had to enter my code # for my navi/satellite radio/CD player to work.

typically this would do the trick, but this time the navi works but not the satellite radio/CD player. it reads "enter code" in the display.

any idea how to fix this problem? 2009 RTL

thanks.

No clue but these trucks do some weird things with a bad battery.

You have two codes to enter in, right? One for the Navi and the other for the Radio ...

Having the issue with the nav code being needed now that it is rarely topping 20F lately in Western NY...The Delphi-sourced batteries Honda uses in the Pilot and RL are total crap...I remember having to change the Delphi in our 2004 Pilot after 2 years (it was unusable with the Rear Entertainment system in use if the Pilot wasn't running. Always a low battery warning and simply no reserve).

I have checked the obvious on the RL and it is pretty apparent the strain of the cold and the fact the wife discharged the battery by leaving the lights on with the key in (they didn't cycle off) has killed what was left of this battery's typically short life.

I've used the Bosch-branded batteries from Pep Boys for other vehicles with good results (not sure who makes these - Johnson Controls, Exide, etc...). The issue with car batteries is you can get a good or bad one from the same rack at the store...A lot of variables and hard for the manufacturers to have good QC. Chemical reactions can be unpredictable and just seems like a crap shoot most times.

ok. so I found out there are 2 separate codes and dug up the radio code, I can not enter the code as it reads "error code E" and the screen is frozen. any way to reset it or do I need to go to a dealer?

thx

update: "error code E" means I tried too many times with the wrong code so now I am locked out. Does anyone know how to unlock so I can enter in the correct code?

thx
If you disconnect the battery and let the radio reset itself, that should do it. If not, I don't know what else to tell you. I would suggest doing the ILP, too, if your battery was dead or disconnected for any period of time.

What Ian said ... if that doesn't work a trip to your local dealer might be required for them to reset it. There's a hidden menu in the Nav system, not sure if there are any reset functions there for the radio but a search might turn up a simple solution for you if the battery disconnect doesn't work.

Even though the touch screen came up to enter your code, you'll have to use the radio station preset buttons to enter your code. Worked for me.

However, I can't get the navigation to work. The navigation code on the card has letters as well as numbers. Am I missing something?
